Chapter 1 – A Song That Changed Everything
The prestigious St. Xavier's College was buzzing with excitement. Students from every department had gathered in the grand auditorium for the annual cultural festival. The highlight of the evening was the inter-college music competition, where the college's most talented singers would perform.
Backstage, Ishaan adjusted the strings of his old guitar. Unlike many of the other contestants, he wasn't wearing expensive clothes or surrounded by friends cheering him on. A simple white shirt, faded blue jeans, and a guitar were all he had.
One of the organizers approached him.
"Ready, Ishaan?"
He smiled confidently.
"I've been ready since I picked up this guitar."
The organizer laughed before announcing his name.
"Ladies and gentlemen... please welcome our final contestant... Ishaan!"
The auditorium erupted in applause as Ishaan walked onto the stage.
Among the audience sat Noyonika Saxena, the only sister of the city's renowned businessman, Rajesh Saxena.
Her arrival had turned heads as usual.
Dressed elegantly, she carried herself with confidence that many mistook for arrogance. Coming from one of the wealthiest families in the city, she had unintentionally earned a reputation as a spoiled and proud girl. She rarely bothered to explain herself whenever people misunderstood her.
As Ishaan stepped onto the stage, Noyonika folded her arms.
"There he is again," she murmured to her friend.
"He always acts as if the world doesn't matter."
Her friend giggled.
"And you always find something to complain about when it comes to him."
Noyonika looked away without replying.
The truth was that she and Ishaan had crossed paths several times before.
During their first semester, she accidentally splashed muddy water on him while driving onto campus. Before she could apologize, Ishaan had walked away, convinced that she hadn't cared.
On another occasion, Noyonika had scolded a waiter in the college café for serving stale food. Ishaan had witnessed only the argument and concluded that she was another rich girl who looked down on everyone.
From then on, every encounter between them had ended with sharp remarks and misunderstandings.
To Ishaan, Noyonika was nothing more than an arrogant millionaire's sister.
The stage lights dimmed.
Ishaan closed his eyes and began singing.
The song spoke of silent love, unspoken dreams, and the pain of longing.
Every word carried deep emotion.
Within moments, the noisy auditorium fell completely silent.
Students who had been chatting moments earlier were now captivated by his voice.
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
O meri jaane jaan tu hain mera jahaan
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon

Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
O meri jaane jaan tu hain mera jahaan
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Maine tujhko chaha is mein meri khata kya
Maine tujhko chaha is mein meri khata kya
Dil ne tujhko apna maana is ki saza kya
O mere humkadam chalenge saath kum
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
O meri jaane jaan tu hain mera jahaan
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain

Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Sun masti mein doobe ya mere tarane
Sun masti mein doobe ya mere tarane
Dil hai tera deewana lekin tu na jaane
O mere hum nashin karle mera yakin
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
O meri jaane jaan tu hain mera jahaan
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
O meri jaane jaan tu hain mera jahaan
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
O meri jaane jaan tu hain mera jahaan
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Sun masti me dube ye mere tarane
Dil hai tera diwana lekin tu naa maane
O mere ham nashi kar le mera yakin
Main to tere liye jaa bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil mein laakhon arman
Ankhon mein hai sapne
Dil mein laakhon arman
Ankhon mein hai sapne
Tum ho ajnabi par lagte ho mujhko apne
Tu meri har khushi tu meri zindagi
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
But no one was more moved than Noyonika.
As Ishaan sang, she couldn't take her eyes off him.

Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
O meri jaane jaan tu hain mera jahaan
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Dil jigar nazar kya hain
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon
Main to tere liye jaan bhi de doon.
Tears welled in her eyes.
Every lyric was familiar.
Because she had written them.
Months earlier, Noyonika had secretly begun writing poems and songs under a pseudonym. She had never wanted anyone to know that the daughter of a billionaire loved literature more than lavish parties and social gatherings.
One of her songs had been published anonymously in a music magazine.
That was the very song Ishaan was singing.
As he poured his heart into every line, Noyonika realized he understood the emotions behind the words exactly as she had imagined while writing them.
For the first time, she wasn't looking at him with annoyance.
She was looking at him with admiration.
When the performance ended, the entire auditorium rose to its feet in a standing ovation.
The judges unanimously declared Ishaan the winner.
He accepted the trophy with humility.
"This award belongs to the anonymous writer of this beautiful song," he said into the microphone.
"Whoever wrote these lyrics understands the language of the heart better than I ever could."
Noyonika smiled through her tears.
He was praising her work...
Without knowing she was the one who had written it.
After the competition, the college campus slowly emptied.
Ishaan packed his guitar and walked towards the hostel.
Several students congratulated him on the way.
Noyonika watched him from a distance.
Her friend nudged her.
"Go and tell him the truth."
Noyonika shook her head.
"No."
"Why not?"
She looked at Ishaan, who walked away without even glancing in her direction.
"He already dislikes me."
"If I suddenly tell him that I wrote the song, he'll think I'm trying to impress him."
"So... I'll wait."
"One day, he'll know the real Noyonika."
That evening, Rajesh Saxena noticed something unusual.
His cheerful younger sister sat quietly on the balcony, holding the music magazine containing her anonymous song.
"You've been smiling at that magazine for two days," Rajesh said as he sat beside her.
"What are you hiding from your brother?"
Noyonika blushed.
"It's nothing."
Rajesh smiled knowingly.
"It isn't 'nothing.'"
After much hesitation, she finally confessed everything.
She told him about the music competition.
About Ishaan.
About how he had praised the anonymous songwriter.
And about how she had unknowingly fallen in love with him.
Rajesh listened patiently.
When she finished, he asked only one question.
"Does he know how you feel?"
Noyonika lowered her eyes.
"He doesn't."
"In fact..."
"He doesn't even like me."
Rajesh smiled gently.
"Then let me meet this young man."
"No!" Noyonika said immediately.
"Please don't tell him who you are."
"I don't want him to think our family's wealth is influencing him."
Rajesh nodded.
"All right."
"I'll meet him... not as Rajesh Saxena, the businessman."
"I'll meet him as an ordinary man."
Noyonika dreams of sharing romantic moments with Ishaan.
(Dream)
One rainy afternoon, Ishaan sat on the beach protecting his guitar with his bag.
Noyonika arrived carrying an umbrella.
Without saying a word, she held it over both of them.

Milne ki tum koshish karna,
Wada kabhi na karna
Milne ki tum koshish karna,
Wada kabhi na karna
Wada to tooth jata hain
Wada to tooth jata hain
Wada to tooth jata hain
Wada to tooth jata hain
Milne ki tum koshish karna,
Wada kabhi na karna
Milne ki tum koshish karna,
Wada kabhi na karna
Wada to tooth jata hain
Wada to tooth jata hain
Wada to tooth jata hain
Wada to tooth jata hain
Jab thi tera jee chahey
Tu paas mere ajana
Mera pyar bus tere liye hai
Tu na kabhi ghabrana
Jab thi tera jee chahey
Tu paas mere ajana
Mera pyar bus tere liye hai
Tu na kabhi ghabrana
Lekin sapno mai milne ki
Kabhi na koshish karna
Lekin sapno mai milne ki
Kabhi na koshish karna
Sapna to toot jata hai Sapna to toot jata hain
Sapna to tooth jata hain
Sapna to tooth jata hain
Noyonika dreams of proposing to Ishaan.
Noyonika: "Can I ask you something?"
Ishaan: "Anything."
She took a deep breath.
Noyonika: "Do you believe two people from completely different worlds can fall in love?"
Ishaan understood what she was trying to say.
He looked into her eyes.
Ishaan: "Love doesn't ask about money or status."
Hoti hau bedart buhat hi
Is duniya ki rasmein
Mushkil kardeti hai nibhana
Pyar wafa ki kasmein,
Hoti hau bedart buhat hi
Is duniya ki rasmein
Mushkil kardeti hai nibhana
Pyar wafa ki kasmein,
Noyonika smiled through happy tears. She held his hand.
Noyonika: "Then... I love you, Ishaan."
For a moment, time stood still.
Ishaan gently held her hands.
Ishaan: "I love you too."
Sheshey jaise arma leekar
Rahoon se na guzarna
Sheshey jaise arma leekar
Rahoon se na guzarna
Shesha to tooth jata hain
Shesha to tooth jata hain
Shesha to tooth jata hain
Shesha to tooth jata hain
They embraced beneath the glowing fairy lights as fireworks illuminated the night sky.

Milne ki tum koshish karna,
Wada kabhi na karna
Milne ki tum koshish karna,
Wada kabhi na karna
Wada to tooth jata hain
Wada to tooth jata hain
Wada to tooth jata hain
Wada to tooth jata hain.
The very next afternoon, Rajesh arrived at the college in simple clothes and made discreet inquiries about Ishaan.
He soon found him sitting outside the boys' hostel, repairing one of his guitar strings.
Rajesh introduced himself simply as a well-wisher.
During their conversation, he quietly learned the truth.
Ishaan had lost both his parents years ago.
He had no home of his own.
He lived in a small hostel room and supported himself through scholarships, part-time singing assignments, and tutoring younger students.
Despite his hardships, there wasn't a trace of self-pity in his voice.
Rajesh was deeply impressed.
Before leaving, he said, "If you ever need any help, don't hesitate to ask."
Ishaan smiled politely but firmly.
"Thank you, sir."
"But I've learned to fight my own battles."
"I may not have much, but whatever I earn... I earn with my own self-respect."
Rajesh looked at the young man with newfound admiration.
As he walked away, he thought to himself,
"Money can build a mansion, but it cannot build a man. My sister has chosen someone with dignity. But will the world ever allow these two to be together?"
The answer to that question would change all of their lives forever.
