How Punam found her lost purse
The perks of being a television star are many. Recently, Punam Gulati discovered one more. If not for the recognition, which playing Shubhra in 'Saat Phere' (Zee) has brought her, she wouldn't have recovered her lost purse containing important cards.
Punam relates, "I was on my way to a mall in a suburb, when I stopped for some refreshments on the way. I have no clue how my huge silver purse disappeared. I discovered about the loss back in my car."
She continues, "Apart from Rs 6000 and an expensive watch, there was a pouch which had my ATM card, credit cards, my dad's navy card and my NOFRA card, which is our access to Navy Nagar. Though I immediately blocked my ATM and credit cards, I was worried about the other cards, which could be misused. My dad was very upset."
But the disappointment didn't last long. "It was a pleasant surprise when a guy called me up and came to return the bag. He had found it with an urchin. His sister and mother, who regularly watch 'Saat Phere', recognised me as Shubhra on seeing my photograph. He somehow managed to trace my number and return the valuables. He's a true hero! Surprisingly, his name is Aamir Khan," she laughs.
Punam's popularity has grown with 'Saat Phere'. "Shubhra is a character with many shades—from a giddy headed girl, to an unwed mother, to marrying a greedy man and now dealing with a fraud maid, Shubhra has evolved," she says. Punam is also looking forward to her film, a black comedy titled 'Chalta Hai Yaar'.
