Yesterday was the action ... Today was the day of reactions ... So, more than Jalal, today was focused on the people around him and of course, Jodha's monumental decision to return to Agra.

So, without much ado let's get to the take 5 that gets Jodha to Agra:

(1) Given the monumental nature of Jalal's abolishing the theerth yatra tax it was great that they showed diverse perspectives of people to his reform ... Ranging from Maharana Pratap who saw it as a more political ploy, to Moti and the other baandhis who felt a burden had been lifted off their shoulders, and then the crowd in front of Jodha who were happy they did not need the daan anymore. It shows the ripples Jalal created on people around him. 👏

By the way, looks like Moti is trying to give Jodha some serious competition ... I am not surprised Jodha is worried- she could not wait till the morning to leave. 😆

(2) The biggest ripple effect was of course on Jodha Begum ... Loved her natural reaction of happiness when she heard the teerth yaatra was repealed by the Shehenshah ... She also commented that the Shehenshah will receive a lot of "asheesh" for this which is obviously her and her love ... I loved the soul talk and reflection that followed for the following reasons:
- The two scenes she remembered: (1) The day he folded his hands and asked her one last time to come and (2) When Mainavati was telling her that his crime was not that bad ... That finally means that his asking forgiveness superceded her memories of that fateful night of accusation 😊
- She clearly described how his actions in forgiving Shivani and his abolition of the teerth yatra tax proved to her that his heart was awakening .., and that is what touched her heart and changed her heart 👏
- Her impatience to meet him ... And how he had touched his heart and she wanted to meet him immediately ... This was the restlessness we were waiting to see in her! 😳

(3) The cute Ameri family dinner: I liked it at showed the viewpoints of Jodha's family on the situation at hand and made them feel like s very natural family
- Mainavati: I must say Mainavati has a very strong understanding of her daughter ... She realized how Jodha was beginning to melt with the Shivani matter but then it now looked like she might not go back to Agra ... It's true, at times Jodha did look like she was ready to move on.
- Dadisa: As witness to Jodha's Badal stories 😳, she probably knew best that Jalal was near and dear to Jodha all the time these days. She was the most confident that Jodha will decide to go back to Agra.
- Bharmal was eagerly looking forward to see Jodha off to her sasural and was ready to declare it a national holiday - I mean hold a utsav (See, I told you that Jodha wanting to leave could have been his dream ... He wanted it so badly 😆)

And of course, this was nice because it was a good precursor to their expressions of happiness upon Jodha's decision to go back to Agra.

(4) Jodha's decision to go back to Agra: I liked it for three reasons:
- She admitted she made a mistake (of refusing Jalal's forgiveness), admitted she was stubborn beyond limits, and had made an anuchit decision. 👏 And, I respect her more for it.
- She wants to go back to her Shehenshah ... Not Ammijaan, Rahim, Apni parivaar ki khaatir 😳
- She was so impatient that she wanted to leave that night itself. Loved it! 😃

(5) Jalal's 360 turn in the episode:
- In the beginning of the episode, we saw Jalal in the dumps ... Wondering if Jodha was even thinking of him or not and maybe the pilgrimage tax will remind her of him 😭
- Jump to the precap and you have Jalal grinning from ear to ear in excitement that he finally the light of happiness was shining in his life again as he eagerly awaited Jodha Begum's arrival. It is so nice to see him smile! 😃

Rajat is truly the master of expressions!

Though I have no clue how the messenger with the news that Jodha Begum was arriving, arrived before Jodha as she left immediately! Why was Jodha not traveling with that messenger. 😉😆

But, Jodha will get to Agra for sure given the new WhatsonIndia spoiler that she will face off with Maham Anga. Though I trust the CVs may come up with some delaying tactics, especially for first meeting.

A long P.S. to folks who wanted Jodha to realize and acknowledge her mistake in the misunderstanding:
- Now that Jodha has realized her mistake in being stubborn and not forgiving Jalal ... This could pave way for her to apologize for her role in the misunderstanding. I can picture a scene where when she is back Jalal once again says he was wrong in not trusting her and he will never do it again ... And she also acknowledges her role in the mistake and that she will not hide things from him again.
- That being said, there is a high probability that her role in the misunderstanding will be forgotten ... But, all I can say is if Jalal is happy with just her returning ... There is nothing we can do. We know he has told her she also played a role in the misunderstanding so Jalal is not being ignorant. But, sometimes, people decide to just move on ...and we should too. If Jalal-Jodha are happy, then why should we forumwaasis be unhappy? It just shows Jalal has a big heart that Jodha is lucky to be in. 😊

Anyways, let's celebrate this weekend for Jodha's return to Agra and the return of Jalal's happiness!

Today I share 4 life lessons as elucidated by Coelho but as lived by our own TE -

1. If you have a weakness, learn to compensate for it with your strength.
2. Rejection doesn't matter. What matters is what you do after being rejected.
3. Be obsessed with your dream.
4. Your horrible' past doesn't make you a failure in the future.

But I do wish that he misses meeting her when she arrives and this scenario of mine does happen!!!! -

Jodha Ranisa is returning becoz she is impatient to see her Shahenshah - and when she arrives she finds him missing - and she is betaab to meet him - so is he - socho Jodha Ranisa Kanha ke saamne baithke apni saari galtiyon ko sweekar kar rahi hai aur apna Prem for Shahenshah bhi bol rahi hai aur Jalal in his impatience to meet comes and hears all!!!!!!

Royal royal royal - I loved the march of soldiers as they went about carrying the 'Tax abolishment' messages to the villages. I loved the announcements that were made in every village and the reaction of the villagers. I was under the impression that yesterday, the episode could have highlighted the issue more since it was one of Akbar's most unique achievements. However, the fact that the after-effects of the new law spewed into today's episode depicted the issue in better scope!

MP
For some reason, I liked Maharana Pratap's scene - true, they haven't been picturizing him as much of a warrior and even his age-range etc is all wrong - but then, this story is of Jodha Akbar and we get to hear about his parallel views - so, I guess I'm not too bothered!

JALAL
While I was disheartened to see Jalal's sad avtaar again - there was a line of his that really touched me!
'You might not recall your memories with me, but at least when you hear of this news you will, if only for a second - remember my name' Splendid!

When his mother walked in, notice how Jalal swiftly reverted from gloomy lover to humble little son!
His words to Ammijaan when he confessed about the brewing ill-will amongst some Mughals in court 'I know I cannot make everyone happy' only highlighted what I'd said about Akbar yesterday - he was not meant to be a people-pleaser - he was meant to be a leader!

As far as the MA-Jalal equation goes, it's beyond a point of no return now - from BOTH ends!

JODHA
I liked how the men gave the Queen back her donation money once they learnt of the tax-abolishment!
'Everyone's happy with the Shehenshah except his Begum' I laughed when Shehnaaz said this line
I was very happy that she was elated about the joy she felt on hearing the 'Jay Jay kaar' of her husband! I did expect that!

JODHA'S DECISION
True, as you said I liked that she wanted to go back at once and that she said she wanted to go back for Shehenshah - but still compared to what he's been going through in her absence I felt like her decision was more based on 'Justice, Duty and a Sense of relief' - not love!
I don't know, I might be the odd one out here - but, I wasn't too impressed by the culmination of this track. I assume that whether a Jodha fan, a Jalal fan or an Akdha fan - all wanted Jodha to return to Agra only because she was madly in love with Shehenshah - when she'd realized she couldn't stay away from him - tirthkar or no - Shivani or no shouldn't make an iota of difference to her. I wanted to see love that is selfless and love that holds no expectations...love that holds no conditions from both sides.

However, the manner in which the CVs have portrayed the Jalal-Jodha equation now still appears unbalanced to me. The manner in which Jodha recalled the flashbacks and her words about 'He's changing...hriday jaagne lagi hai...' it felt like as though she stayed away from an erring husband and decided to go back once he mended his ways!
He was always a benevolent and broad-minded king - he never differentiated between Hindus and Mughals and this is something Jodha always knew. The only problem was in the husband-wife equation. So THAT should have been the driving force! THAT should have been what they concentrated on! Apart from a tel-maalish/Badal-Kajri episode, Jodha never recollected anything positive about him in 1 whole month! While he has been recalling so many positive things about her - missing her as his wife - as his lover - he is visiting her hojra and talking to her painting - thinking of her every spare minute - getting teary eyed - talking to the moon - to Salima - to rocks and trees and leaves! (and out of love, not for her advices or counsels or her righteousness)
The sudden realization on her part today after the 'tirthkar' news felt like injustice to an 'Epic love story'. It seemed to me like she agreed to go back only because her faith in his justice was resurrected - there was no gradual build-up to her feelings. I am very disappointed with the CVs for this. The 'Becoming diwani and pagal in his absence' Jodha is a thing of my dreams, I guess! I would have been very happy for her to hide all this from others, but in the hidden seclusion of her room to think/reminisce/talk/fight/miss/weep about her love! We saw nothing like that!

My question, if he hadn't pardoned Shivani or abolished the tax, she wouldn't have come back - at least, not for now right? Then, she should wait back for some more time till she realizes her love. If not; Jalal the lover and Jodha the beloved it will always be!

Precap -
Jalal is so going to miss his teddy bear hugs when Atgah's gone!

Divi,
Yes the episode was good!

A few observations from my side,
1. Hamida truly knows her son and wants him to be happy. After asking him his reason in not consulting her with Thirthkar abolition, she went to Maham and asked her to reconcile. She gauged Jalaal's mood, and when she came to know that, Jalaal ignored her not out of anger, but, concern, she instantly went to MA.
2. MA has motion detectors in her hojra, one moment she was making halloween mask faces and next moment she straightened up her face when she realized HB was there.
3. Jalaal's dark green and red dress is inspired by his Hojra colour scheme. Phew! Decoded that one finally.
4. Bharmal dude, apparently if you had hired 50 people to shout Shahenshah Jalaluddin Zindabaad outside Jo's kaksh, she would've packed and moved looong back.
5. Jodha's voice softened when she said Shahenshah part in her I wanna go back dialogue. In fact I feel she said all the words we have been waiting to hear all these days. My reaction? Same as Dadisa's as soon as Jodha said I wanna go back.
6. Party time! Both in Amer and Agra people wanna party that Jo's going to Agra.
7. Regarding your query on messenger - Jo time-lag, I think either Maina took some time selecting gifts for the mughals, or they sent a bird courier.
8. Jallu's reaction in precap. Uske aane pe khush ho, to uske mummy banne pe kaisa haal hoga tumhara?
9. Classic - Jallu's expression when his mommy came in looked like that of a 12 year old's when his mommy comes into the room, while he's going through Playboy or something. Guilty, guilty guilty.

What do you think was in that tiny parcel Jo was distributing among folks? I am thinking granola bars.

Awesome post! Great acting by Paridhi as well. 👍🏼

awsum analysis divya. i liked ur points. but im still upset with the dialogue writers. " shahenshah ka hriday jagne laga hain" is again a wrong dialogue. he had shown many times tht he has heart. even jodha herself had admitted it many times. she had seen it many times. but i guess again the dialogue writers had forgotten evrything.😕

lashy I keep saying that if the Universe wants us to learn a lesson she will keep sending us the 'parikshas' so that we learn them - and she becomes a Zen master and even beats us into learning them if we become dheeth - Jodha Ranisa has to learn this lesson on Love - but unfortunately for that our poor poor TE will be getting hurt - I would say there a minimum of 3 more direct attempts on his life that are yet to happen in the immediate future of which I do know that in 2 he will get hurt!!!!

Nice take. I like how the creative team is bring closure to this MU. It definitely was stretched beyond reasonable limits in the process making Jalaal look a bit like a Majnu and Jodha excessively stubborn but oh well ...alls well that ends well.
Kudo's to both mom's. MV knew exactly how to handle her daughter as she knows her daughter inside out.. Same case with Hamida too...She played devil's advocate when needed and extended her arms and support and appreciation when she thought best.True Mom.
Eager Jalaal awaiting Jodha makes me think, typical Ekta, may not make them meet right away, but will wait n watch. Am not gonna lose my sleep wondering abt the possibilities.

I too want to see this betaabi! Let us see- I have a hunch the CVs are going to do something to delay ... But I am not sure because of the delay, who will be more betaab: Jodha or Jalal. 😃
