Putting aside the famous war between the two big powers, Akbar used to highly Praise Pratap for his qualities and bravery. This is true, its written in historical books. Akbar did not want to indulge in fight with Mewar because Pratap was difficult to destroy.Plus he wanted to be friends with Pratap so he could make Mughals more powerful. He sent various friendly messages to him but MP remained stubborn.(I am very greatful for this. when almost every coward rajput submitted to him, my maharana fought alone against turks). I am fine if the show them fighting for political reasons but the way they are overexceeding jalal in his enemity towards mp is not going down my neck. After knowing Akbar's disposition towards Hindus, i want them to make jalal grey shaded not totally negative. But again they will not be able to justify seige of chittor and akbar's cruelty towards rajputs though he repented it afterwards.

Very nice post

I have read some where that jalal was not that good as he is portrayed in Jodha akbar movies in his early 20's . But he became liberal at later years of his life . So am satisfied with whatever is being shown in the show .

Sorry don't know about history that much !

Jalal was a very angry young man as shown in the show but his anger on petty reasons is laughable. he never craved for any woman of maharana pratap,i do not find mention of phool kanwar in history though there is a story where he was trying to molest a rajput ruler's wife but she was not phool for sure. Not later but after his marriage to Maryam Zamani he thoroughly changed herself. Not sure about movie but jalal in mughal history really got change after entry of jodha in his life. He refused eating beef, cut down on his vine, made friendly relations with his rajput in laws and tried to abolish sati. He knew that the reason of sati was mughal's cruelty. so he tried well only tried but could not abolish it as obviously he could not fight against his own bretheren who were turks. still what he did for india remaining a muslim turk is what makes him great.
