Actor Avinash Sachdev, currently a hot favorite for his role in the show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon...Ek Baar Phir (he plays the lead opposite Shrenu Parikh), says that he owes everything to his father and may have never become an actor in the first place had his father not backed him. Says Avinash, "My father is my best friend and there is hardly anything that he doesn't know about me. I tell him stuff that I might not share even with my friends. When I decided to give up my IAS dreams to become an actor, it was a huge decision but he backed me and motivated me to shift to Mumbai. He has taught me to never lose self-respect. I owe a lot to my dad!"
