1: How did the whole idea of a Musical get conceived?
Ameeta: We have been playing with this track for 5 - 6 months, where the kids are trying to get an affiliation and finally they have reached a point where they are allowed to get out and decide to show the foreign delegates what they can actually do.
So they create impromptu musical, basically it's a musical of D3 where when we started D3 3 years back. It was a story about a girl who lived in Dehradun, who came to Bombay and came to college called St Louis and she encountered a group and how eventually she saw how there was difference in dance, then they all came together as a team then love happened. So it's a very brief journey of D3 which we have done in a musical form. The interesting part is that we have 9 songs and the narration bit you have Shantanu singing, you have Maci singing, you have Vrushika singing, you have everybody singing. It's very interesting , its raw and I'm completely ok with that rawness, I didn't want that kind of perfection.
The interesting part is we have Neeti Mohan who has lent her voice for narration to Kria, free of cost for us and she managed to take timeout of her busy schedule and to come and record for us. The end product is sounding very nice and different. It is an experiment we are trying for the first time in D3, we have never done a musical and we wanted to try something different, it might go like completely bizarre or completely WOW but I think the entire experience of doing it was completely different. I think the kids will agree with me, it was something we all did for the first time and I think we all enjoyed it. I hope it turns out good and people like it and we get good ratings. We just hope... fingers crossed
2: Are the voices only lent for Kria, the others doing it on their own?
Ameeta: Others have done in their own voices, Kriya I had to get other voices as she was not here and I had to do recording on a particular day, so I got Neeti to to do it and there was a lot of narration part of Kriya, which is singing, where she is actually singing, so I had to get someone else to do it as it was sounding really bad, honestly it was for that reason it was sound bad so I needed a singer to do it, we just got that part done by her and rest of the part all used their own voices, so it sounded very nice.
3: Sounds as if you had a lot of fun doing all this?
Ameeta: It was a lot of fun actually, it was crazy, there was very less time and we had so much do to, so there was a lot of running around , craziness, it always happens when we do D3, so this kind of goes on another level, but we had fun. We had Javed, Sanavi and Ankita , well known choreographers come on board and they have done an excellent job. We shot it very close to the telecast date, it will go on air day after tomorrow, 7 & 8 India time. There has been a lot of hard work that has gone into it and I really want it to be appreciated, lot hard work which I really wanted to get paid off.
Ameeta: Is your audience happy that Swaron has come together. How is the response?
4: Of course they are. Response is always good.
Ameeta: That was also a very big we did in a filmy way...
5: Finally Swaron happened, what is the story now?
Ameeta: I still need to think, it's still in the process will have something fresh and new, definitely something new for sure. That was a very huge thing for me to do, done is a filmy way, it was different, It could have once again gone extremely wrong or extremely well, I'm glad it did well.
6: Looking forward to all of them blossoming and becoming partners.
Ameeta: Absolutely, definitely it's going to be something new on the show.
