It looks forced, its looks anything but sensuous and last but not the least the opening shot of the commercial just put you off. Well we are talking about the latest Durex commercial with Ranveer Singh as its brand ambassador.
Ranveer Singh looks very wannabe and desperately trying to do something different. What's sad is Ranveer is such a great performer and he does not need such gimmicks to be in the limelight.
There is nothing wrong in endorsing a condom brand, which you a brand like Durex, nut then one needs to be careful of how the entire product is looking on screen. The commercial is all about a feeling called love and needs to be handled sensitively but what Ranveer Singh has done looks very below the belt and desperate.
Ranveer Singh launched Durexs nationwide campaign DoThe Rex. Ranveer Singh, as their brand ambassador promotes the message of safe sex amongst the youth in the country.
Talking about his association, Ranveer said, "The Rex is a dance move that signifies the celebration of great sex! When you have had great sex and you want to celebrate the divine experience that has moved you, then you Do the Rex. I believe intimacy is never just physical, but emotional too. I'd like very much for the youth of the nation to talk more openly about safe sex by normalizing the conversation."
The video has a dance number and shows Doing The Rex which is a representation of physical expression of happiness after a sexual experience. Choreographer duo Bosco-Caesar have directed the dance sequence.
The digital campaign has received a lot of attention on social media. In just one day the video received over 1,50,000 views on YouTube, it is now nearing two lakh views.
All said and done, Ranveer Singh has achieved what he wanted to and that's headlines but then how long can one go will such tactics; lets wait and watch.
