Abhimanyu-Draupadi Milan:OS
This OS is based on the spoiler from this version of SP
As their entourage got closer to Matsya kingdom, Abhimanyu took permission from Krishna, Arjun and Subhadra to leave ahead towards their destination.
"I would like to surprise jyesth mata." Abhimanyu's innocent eyes sparkled in anticipation of his meeting with Draupadi.
"Do you really think you would be able to surprise her?" Krishna smiled, "a mother can even recognize her son's cries from a distance. Don't underestimate my sakhi."
"I can't wait to get her blessings mamashree. I know she will recognize me but I want to be the first one to witness that love and pride on her face. As her son, I know it's my prerogative. I don't want to share that moment with anyone else."
"You're right my son," Arjun smiled, "even during the 13 years of exile, her face would light up with joy whenever anyone mentioned your name. When Madhav visited us, she would bombard him with questions about you."
"Just like Abhimanyu pestered me with questions about jiji?" Subhadra chuckled.
Arjun and Krishna exchanged glances and smiled at each other.
Abhimanyu folded his hands and before anyone could respond, he had trotted away with his favorite horse, leaving a trail of wind and dust behind him.
AT THE GATES OF MATSYA KINGDOM
Draupadi and her four husbands anxiously awaited the arrival of the family from Dwarka. Yudishtra, Bheem, Nakul and Sahdev stood a few steps behind her. They all knew how anxious she was to meet her sakha, Subhadra and Abhimanyu. After years of sorrow, they were glad to see that excitement and joyful expression on her face. The sparkle in here eyes was back and so was the glow on her face.
From a distance, Draupadi saw a young man walk towards the gate after
descending from his horse. She was baffled to see a lone figure advance towards them. Years of anxiety and danger had made her extra cautious about strangers. Her reflexes were attuned to defending herself from any kind of threat. Without any hesitation, she picked her bow and pointed the arrow at the young man. She noticed, he was quite young-- perhaps a teenager-- but she sensed threat as his confident strides came closer.
As soon as the boy's steps crossed the threshold of the gate, an arrow landed at his feet. Soon a ring of fire encircled the young man. He glanced at the flames around him and smiled at the woman across the ring. Gently, he folded his hands and shut his eyes in prayer.
Stunned by the fire, the four Pandav brothers ran towards Draupadi.
"Panchali, what're you doing?" Bheem asked.
"Any enemy of Matsya kingdom is our enemy Arya." She replied defiantly; her eyes glimmered with the reflection of flames, "I've learnt to be proactive and not take any chances."
To their surprise, the young boy continued to pray, unfazed by the fire. Within a few minutes, a gentle drizzle from the skies pacified the angry flames and a cloudburst of beautiful white lotus petals covered the ground between Abhimanyu and Draupadi. She was spellbound by the shower and awestruck by the young boy's unwavering expressions. Draupadi knew she had made a terrible mistake. Fear had transiently taken over her emotions, shutting the doors to the most beautiful relationship in the world- that of a parent and a child.
"Abhi---Abhimanyu?" The bow slipped out of her hands; her heart filled with remorse and overwhelming love for the young boy. He opened his eyes and smiled at her.
With his eyes glancing at the ground, he fell at her feet, "forgive me jyesth mata. It's my ill fortune that I was responsible for creating a doubt in your mind."
With tears of joy and a slight tremor in her hands, she bent down and lifted Abhimanyu. She was rendered wordless by the sight in front of her eyes. How could she have mistaken him for an intruder? He was exactly like she had imagined him. He had his father's built, his mother's beautiful and tender eyes and the radiance of his mamashree. The boundless tears from her eyes washed away the years of pain and sorrow. With her emotions choked, she could barely speak. She pulled him into an embrace and showered him with maternal affection.
"How could I?" She asked, "How could a mother not recognize her son? Am I not the most unfortunate woman in this world?"
"No jiji." Subhadra, along with Krishna and Arjun walked through the gates. "For years, Abhimanyu has yearned for this day. It's his good fortune that his prayers have been finally answered. His day wouldn't start without offering his blessings in your name. Now, he can receive blessings from his jyest mata herself. I might be his birth mother but in his heart, he has always revered you more than anyone else."
Draupadi held Abhimanyu in her arms, kissing his forehead once again, "Son, my blessings shall always be with you. May your valor, courage and devotion become immortal in eras to come; may your name outlive all of us from the Kuru race; may the whole Aryavarta recognize your fame. You're not only our pride but also our hope for the future generations of this great Bharat nation."
The Pandavs, Krishna and Subhadra blessed the young man as Virat and Sudeshna walked out of the palace to greet their visitors.
