Even with a good track now, and really wonderful actors essaying the roles of Banasur and Vani, there is no improvement in TRPs.😔 Don't know the actors name, but when Banasur comes on screen he manages to keep you riveted!! 👏 Although, I am not taken with the deviation in the story, and especially with the characterisation of Balarama and the Yaduvanshi's (as understood from Brahmadev's commentary).😡
Actually since Ramayan, the liberties/deviations taken from the known stories were getting larger and larger, and then it finally culminated with the Sati Rahasya track, which I think sort of 'broke the camels back', and even many diehard fans dropped off.
Production values also started dropping since the Ramayan track.
Even before there were deviations, but it was still within the realms of acceptability. The first Sati track was also not strictly as per the known stories but it was very well worked and even now I think everyone remembers it fondly. Thereafter, all tracks had some minor and some major deviations, but acceptable.
The Jalandhar track + Parvati Amnesia track was I think the starting point of the "straying far from known kathas", but it was well accepted because they managed to hold it together with pace, good dialogues, scenes etc. Thereafter, it was just one fall after another.
I think they should do one really "Dhamakedaar" track, and then wind up while people are asking "why did you wind up?" rather than "when will you wind up?"
