Ok I am no expert in analysis believe you and me so I am going to try and see if can answer this.
When Paro finally helped Rudra get his job back you first saw him trying to want to say something towards Paro but as we know his nature he couldn't.
After he realised that his kaki had managed to burn Paro all for the sake of getting him fired we all saw how he threatened his kaki telling her out right that he will always shield Paro. He doesn't care what is happening in his and Paro's life at that moment because to him that is between them not the world but if anyone threatens or tries to mistreat Paro they have to first deal with him.
When he told Paro she was coming was mainly because he didn't want his kaki to harm her in any way while he was away but somewhere he also wanted her there.
For the first time they are on their own in Jaipur and he knew that Paro being a village wouldn't understand anything so just like once before he explained things to her.
Again anytime things would happen like the time he realised he left her in the room in the dark he ran towards her. He was again protecting her. By then he had again become the person who would always protect her. He knows that. So making sure she is ok is his first and uttermost priority. We see these changes in him gradually only because of Paro.
It has not been a quick transition I think.
Now as for him softening up if we go back to when he was tipsy and Paro was full on drunk he didn't see a girl he saw the woman in her making him become more of the man and starting to except his feelings towards her.
His softening is because he also realises that he does end up hurting Paro which she had told him. He also doesn't like hurting her but he doesn't know why and he has excepted this. You remember that he wasn't entirely drunk so he remembers what he said and what she said let alone what he did. So those memories are always going to stay with him. He realises that Paro in her normal state is a very innocent girl not worldly like him but when she was drunk he also realised that she was a woman, a woman that is his and very much wants him like a man.
He has gotten use to Paro a lot but he is not going to fully accept her yet. This is probably only stage one. We have yet to see what happens during this next track and after that.
I hope I have helped. If not do tell me. I would like to know.

I personally think Rudra was soft with her from day 1, when he saved her. There is something indescribable about her, that leaves him bewildered. He doesn't understand the feelings that elicit from him about her. Hence, him always declaring that he hates her and even using his "justifications" - she was part of the baraat & Tejawat's gang, she set fire to Dilsher's room, he got suspended because of her & the most obvious one, she's a khoobsurat aurat. It's easy for him to hide himself with a myriad of excuses.

After Paro helped get his job back though, he realized he has nothing to hide his attraction/deep seated connection to her behind. It was clear as day in last Friday's episode: he was bowled over by Paro, because all that time, he didn't believe her feelings for him. She saved his honor and job and that, I believe, is what has made him very caring or soft towards her. He also doesn't need to or can't hide anything from her because she can read him like a book. He doesn't mean all the mean things he says and does to her because his eyes speak the total contrary.

If you compare his behavior with Paro and Laila, it shows clearly how Paro is different and has been from Laila, and probably from all other girls. His heart unknowingly beats for Paro, but his mind and ego take over to shield himself from any potential pain from this khoobsurat aurat. This lack of shield to protect himself has now allowed him to experience the feeling of having someone on his side for the first time in his life, leading him to let his guard down around Paro. Having Paro also constantly tell him that she loves him so much probably also makes him feel better and worthy of having a smile or two.

That's what I think anyway.

I need help too ...
I always felt track is misplaced and half baked for the trps
Perfect scenes perfect dialogues just that it should have come a little later after they explored the relationship a bit , may be after Rudra went though a near death experience and saw paro though the same cos of him
Then it makes sense this softening and inate care which he couldn't suppress , he is not this guy as of now Cos nothing happened to change his vows
Hope I am wrong
