Pieces of the puzzle are fitting in and we are getting a clearer image of what transpired in the run-up to the hush-hush wedding of Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra on April 21 in Italy.

Here are a few interesting tidbits about the low-key wedding that has taken everyone by surprise. Sources say Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra didn't really intend to get married when they left for their European holiday and it was while vacationing in Italy that they decided to tie the knot. Moreover, they wanted the wedding to take place on April 21 because 21 is an important number for both of them. Rani Mukjerji's birthday falls on March 21 and Aditya's on May 21 every year.

Sources say Rani Mukerji's family members -- her dad Ram Mukerji, mom Krishna Mukerji and brother Raja Mukerji -- took a flight to Italy on April 19. So did Aditya Chopra's mom Pamela Chopra and brother Uday Chopra.

Rani Mukerji wanted her close friend Vaibhavi Merchant at the wedding, so she invited her. Vaibhavi, too, flew to Italy on Saturday. Designer Sabyasachi Mukerji was also called in to style the bride. He's been Rani's favourite and trusted one for years.

Karan Johar, who is almost family to the Chopras, was also invited. The likes of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol weren't kept in the dark, but they respected the privacy Rani and Aditya sought.

Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra didn't intend on keeping the wedding a secret. So Rani issued a press statement confirming that she had indeed tied the knot with Aditya in Italy.
Buzz is that actress Rani Mukerji was dressed for her wedding by her trusted and favorite designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

Given Rani's liking for Sabyasachi dresses, one always expected her to wear one on her wedding. But since the actress tied the knot with beau Aditya Chopra quite secretly in Italy on Monday, one can only guess.

Fashion columnist Sujata Assomul is pretty sure that Rani Mukerji wore a Sabyasachi for her wedding.

And it was a Sabyasachi for Rani Mukerji, of course. The designer was at the wedding, and personally styled the bride!
