Part 13!

"What did you say Sanyukta? I didn't quite hear it" curiously said Randhir... He was skilfully trying to remove some of the salad that Sanyukta had oh-so generously served in to Vidhushi's plate, without her notice.

Upon not receiving a response from Sanyukta, Randhir shook her a little... Sanyukta was caught in her daze; she just looked at Randhir flabbergasted! She looked at him with her mouth slightly open and eyes moistening up.

Bile rose up in her throat, yet her voice was not unwilling come out... Her composure was breaking every second now.

"Uhhh" screeched Vidhushi

"What happened?" both Randhir and Sanyukta snapped to look at Vidhushi and the sight made them both stunned! In theory they had rehearsed this scene over and over again, yet in practise, both the industrialists just sat there rooted to their seats, with eyes wide!

"What the f**k guys! What the hell are you waiting for?!!?!? I am about to push out a pumpkin sized baby through a pea-sized whole!!!!!! Will you both get moving??!??!!" yelled Vidhushi bringing Sanyukta out of her trance, while Randhir was stuck at the word "pea-sized"

"Randhir" shouted Sanyukta pulling him out of his trance and made their way along to the hospital, breaking almost every single traffic light and speed zones! Oh well! Speed fines can wait... There is a pregnant lady in this car throwing curses every second, thought Randhir

"Aaarrrggg!!! Parth I am going to kill you the next time you even come near with those seductive intentions!! You wait and watch!" Vidhushi moaned, her contractions getting more and more painful by the passing minute.

At hearing her comment, Randhir couldn't help but burst out laughing...

"What's so funny Randhir?!!?!? Keep your eyes glued to the effing road!!! Otherwise, I swear to God, next time Sanyukta is carrying a child, I am going to pester you like no tomorrow!!!" Vidhushi screeched!

Sanyukta closed her eyes in dismay, and this time she was sure Randhir had heard her...

Sanyukta had always pined for Randhir during her pregnancy and child birth. She was a firm believer in BOTH the parents being necessary for a child's life! She had always wanted Aryan to have a fatherly figure in his life; he was her life, yet she had failed to provide her life with one of the most essential support system in life!

A father!

Surprisingly Randhir had not uttered a word until they reached the hospital... They rushed Vidhushi to the theatre and saw Parth running behind them to catch up

God had finally listened to his prayers! He had wanted to be there for his first child... He wanted to the first one to have ever held the child in his arms, to give the tiny buddle their first kiss. He quickly gave both Sanyukta and Randhir a tight hug, before rushing in to the theatre to be by Vidhushi's side in her time of need.

Sanyukta just looked at Randhir... There was a sense of storm brewing in his heart... Did Vidhushi say, "next time Sanyukta bears a child"?? Next time? Does Sanyukta have a child?! Who is the father? Where is the child?

Numerous questions where arising in his mind, yet he had no answers for them... The more he tried to figure this mystery out, the deeper he got lost... It was like a web, in which he kept getting tangled!

"Randhir... I owe you an explanation!"

"You damn well do! Who is this child Sanyukta? Have you been involved in a relationship?? Please tell me now! I need to know! These questions are coiling and distorting my brain!" Randhir blabbered.

Randhir trusted Sanyukta no matter what, but he wanted to know who this child was! Randhir had leaved without his beloved for long enough in his bitter life and he had already decided to give his child his name, if Sanyukta wanted!

His love knew no bounds for Sanyukta! Any other man would have simply ridiculed her character and walked out, but Randhir was different... He could no longer keep his anxious at bay; he turned around and shook Sanyukta by the shoulders!

"Tell me dammit!"

Mistaking the concern in his eyes for anger, Sanyukta was shivering and her eyes were starting to moisten.

"Randhir please seat down! I am willing to answer any of your questions... But just please sit down, you are scaring me" innocently whispered Sanyukta.

Leaving her at once, Randhir dragged to her the cafeteria and found a table for two in an isolated corner of the spacious room.

"Should I start from the beginning?"

Randhir just gaped his eyes in to Sanyukta's gaze, asking seriously?!'

"It was day of our marriage, after you didn't turn up to the marriage bureau; I had fainted in the car park... Woke up in the hospital and found out I was pregnant. But I was too angry and felt betrayed to even look at your face then. I moved back here and opened up my business" Sanyukta started to narrate her story, while trying to judge the mixture of emotions etched on Randhir's face.

Failing to exactly put a finger on his ranging emotions, Sanyukta gulped and wiped the sweat beads off her lips before continuing.

"His name is Aryan and he studies in a boarding school, an hour outside Melbourne... He is a lot like you Randhir, the same piercing brown orbs, the same arrogance and the same outlook towards life-"

"The same hatred towards a parent who abandoned their child?!" interrupted Randhir, with a smirk on his face.

Sanyukta's face cringed at his tone... No matter how much she wanted to assure Randhir that Aryan would never do that, she herself didn't know what her obnoxiously strong-willed son will do...

"Randhir... You are over-reacting! I am sure that Aryan would never feel such a way... He is like you, but he earns for his dad a lot""

Again Sanyukta was interrupted by Randhir, "Can you please give me some time Sanyukta? I need some time alone..."

Before she could say anything, Randhir got up and walked out of a cafeteria, leaving behind a stunned Sanyukta!

Part 14!

Randhir needed some fresh air, after the bomb that was just dropped on him... It had taken him a good chunk for his life to forgive and accept his mother back in to his life, and he cannot afford the same with their son.

He punched the railing in front of him in order to vent out his frustration! He gulped back his tears and remembered the extreme troubles Sanyukta had taken in order for him to reconcile with this mother

Small dinner dates, little cafe gatherings, formal meetings... Yet Randhir was always adamant on making his mother's life hell! It was only after months of constant persuasion from Sanyukta, that he had finally decided to behave like a son his mother deserved!

If Aryan was exactly like him, Randhir knew that Aryan would already have a preconceived notion about how irresponsible, cheap and pitiable his father is.

Tears were threatening to spill out of Randhir's eyes... He had always wanted children after meeting Sanyukta, yet never in his wildest dreams, did he ever think that life would play such cruel tricks on them...

He had always known the cruelty of life; yet he didn't know that life will continue to test till the every end

The exact second when Sanyukta mentioned that Aryan was THEIR son, he was over the moon!

Randhir's happiness at that minute knew no bounds; he was ecstatic!

Not just because he was a father to a 9 year old child, but the fact Sanyukta had still given birth to a son, despite being under the misconception that he betrayed her!

Sanyukta once again gave Randhir a reason to live, a reason to fight for life... A reason to be alive and happy again!

Yet as soon as this happiness sunk in, a wave of guilt come over him... He was not present for the one of the best gifts in this world... He was present when Sanyukta's tummy was expanding; he had missed her cravings, her mood swings, the baby's kicks, the doctor's visits! He had missed all the opportunities and experiences that every expectant father wishes to experience for his first born child! Not just his first born child, but all his children!

He had missed Aryan's first breath in this world; he had missed his first hug, his first kiss, his first cry, his first yawn...

Just then Randhir had realised that he had missed nine long years of Aryan's life! He knew nothing about his own son! Randhir had no idea of Aryan's likes and dislikes, his attitude, his personality!

A sudden panic had started to brew in Randhir... His emotions were fluctuating as quickly as the weather in Melbourne... The constant changes in his emotions were starting to flush Randhir; he was clueless about his own progeny!

"Hell! I don't even know what he looks like! He has to look like me though, like father like son" said Randhir to no-one in particular!

"And he does too!" said Sanyukta coming behind him

"Aryan" Sanyukta showed a photo of a small boy with silky brown hair; dark brown orbs and a cute smile (imagine the boy from Partner guys!)

Randhir moved his hands over the photo of Aryan... He resembled Randhir is every way possible, expect his smile, that was Sanyuktas'!

"I am sorry Sanyukta... For leaving you while you needed me the most. For not being present when you were going through the most difficult journey in life. I am sorry that I was not by your side to help you, to comfort you, to spoil you... I am sorry I was not there to share these moments with you" tears were spilling without a care from both Sanyukta and Randhir.

"I know I am not worth it! But please accept my apology! I really---"

Before Randhir could finish his sentence, Sanyukta jumped in to his arms... While moving her arm in his hair, she placed a kiss on his ear and quietly whispered, "It was never your fault Randhir... He will accept you Randhir! He is boy, not a man! He needs his father, just as equally as he needs his mother!"

Randhir just tightened his grip around her petite waist and listened to her soothing words... He felt himself immerse in her warmth and compassion.

So this part didn't really turn out like I had planned, but still it's here and I can't do anything about it😆
