I don't know what this is...maybe a random REALLY long post from my side on my take on Paro I suppose...
Been noticing how people are not happy with the way Paro is ignored, behaving or shown to be feeling and how they're not happy with the writers for shaping her in this way. On the contrary to that opinion I LOVE the way Paro has shaped up. Initially I thought Paro would be a bubbly, happy-go-lucky village belle, but after 4 months I can safely say she is not that, she's got much more depth and more to her. And here is what I think makes me admire her character and what sets it apart from other female leads:
1) Paro is head strong- despite the fact she looks petite, has been bought up in a village like Birpur, Paro has her own perception of things and is very strong minded and determined, she doesn't give in or budge easily. Rudra tried everything from bullying, deception, seduction, forcing her into thinking they were getting married, begging/ pleading with her but she didn't give in to him until she heard the truth from Tejawat himself. Rudra himself said he'd admire her stubbornness and determination if she hadn't been siding with the wrong man. Female leads aren't usually shown to stand up so strongly for what they believe in especially to the man who is equally adamant as Rudra is, that too all alone, Paro really didn't have anyone on her side in her fight against Rudra. She didn't simply cry and accept defeat when Rudra held her captive, she remained silent because she knew in her silence lay his defeat, her silence was her way of fighting, she even said that to Rudra.
2) Paro is a woman of action- she didn't cry and sulk for days when Rudra began controlling her life, she tried escaping. She didn't accept defeat when he said his name would be written in her mehendi, she took action-quite aggressively (burning her hands). She didn't sit and cry and feel sorry for herself when she realised she was a pawn in Tejawat's plan and that he was about to kill her, she immediately went to BSD headquarters to set her wrongs right. As soon as she realized her feelings for Rudra she didn't sit and ponder over them for weeks as it happens in
Indian tv shows, she immediately went to confess them to him. Paro isn't a girl who sits and cries and thinks all day, she wants to take control even though all her life she's never been able to the way she has after coming to the Ranavat haveli.
3) Paro is observent- after seeing Rudra's Jallad side enough times she still began trusting him and seeing that he was thereto protect her. She hadn't warmed up to him because he was still her husband's murderer, the man because of whom she lost her family, home, village, identity and even existence (he proved that she died in the blast) YET she choose to trust him over Mohini who was offering her a way out, because she saw that however mean and evil he was being he actually wouldn't harm her. She quickly perceives that Mohini and Sumer are not the people she can feel safe around. She puts the pieces of Rudra's actions, past and behaviour together to see that underneath the Jallad exterior he is a warm, soft, caring yet broken man. Despite the fact he again was trying to force Paro into another marriage she sees in his eyes what he himself doesnt want to accept and she voices it "aap ki zubaan kuch keh rahi hai aur aankhein kuch aur"
4) Paro is transparent and an open book to read- what she thinks and feels is easily visible in her eyes, face, body language and words. She trusts Rudra so will hide behind him, hand on his shoulder as he steps between her and danger, she calls out to him in her hour of need (when Maithalli was kidnapped she wanted help from him, when Laila tried to attack her it was his name she called despite him being just there). She loves Rudra so she tells him, she wants him to forgive her she keeps asking for it. She's desperate for him to understand her so she keeps asking "ab hua mare pe bharosa?"
5) Paro is Rudra's equal-this is the thing I love most about her character, she is not inferior to Rudra. She is equally stubborn, fierce (the way she beats the goons and Tejawat), intelligent (she understood Kakisa's dirty tricks quickly yesterday), but she also fulfils Rudra's flaws, Paro thinks before she speaks, she is calm, she isn't hesitant to show her affection and she isn't scarred of being emotionally hurt the way he is.
All of Paro's traits are beautifully and quite clearly carved into the storytelling and I have no complaints from CVs over Paro and her behaviour/feelings.
People expect more of Paro's POV of the marriage be shown but it has been shown...she was crying when he was making those horrendous vows, she fainted out of shock or whatever that had just happened. However on her family (Kakusa, Maithali and Sunehri) welcoming her into the family she was happy and smiled. WHY? Becuase that is what she wanted! She was Rudra's now, no matter whoever tried she wouldn't be separated from him and asked to leave the house and her family or those who mattered had accepted it.
When Tejawat's truth came out she reacted as expected from her, she was shell shocked but she was about to be killed, of course she wasn't going to sit around taking it all in, she fought for life. When out of harm's way she did sit, think, cry and take it all in but she couldn't continue doing that all day, she had to confess.
Paro is thought to have fallen in love with Rudra all too quickly. But this is Paro...people on this forum already offered enough reasoning for her being in love with Rudra and I don't want to repeat them all and drag this post more than it already is.
Paro reacts differently to the average female lead on TV IMO and I love her for that. Her emotions are shown well and Sanaya isn't underused, maybe the problem is people aren't able to connect to her or aren't used to seeing female leads react the way she does but I'm not complaining, I love Paro baisa for having her own edge and aura of being Rudra's other half Shakti/Parvati.
This is just my view not intended to offend anyone :)
