"Khushi he is so cute." Khushi rolled her eyes as she heard her best friend exclaim for the hundredth time in the day with a dreamy look on her face. Ever since he had sent those things Lavanya had even started planning her marriage and children. What the heck was wrong with her, man? Couldn't she see that I was least concerned about this stuff? Khushi thought with an exasperated sigh and tried again to knock some sense into that thick headed brain of hers:
"Look Lavanya I am not going on a date with him just because you find him cute or he sent me a bunch of red roses with a box of heart shaped chocolates."
"But that was such a sweet gesture." She pouted and shifted nervously on her seat under the scrutinizing gaze of Khushi and was about to make a run for her life but stopped dead in her tracks when Khushi questioned her with a stern expression and raised eyebrow and she knew there was no way out now.
"You really think that I don't know who gave him this cheesy idea?"
"I...uh...that's not the point. The thing is he likes you and wants to do everything possible to woo you." Could you be anymore lame, Lavanya? She asked herself but who cared when you had a best friend who was single from what seemed like forever and wasn't even planning to change that status anytime sooner.
"Lavanya I told you I am not interested in all this." Khushi said with a finality in her tone marking the end of discussion and Lavnaya knew better than to provoke her. Who knows what she might do in her anger? Beat that guy up or scream at him like a banshee and scare the living daylights out of the poor guy. Who was she kidding? This was Khushi she was talking about.
