Showing Paro as an uneducated gaonwali

I want to start off saying that Rangrasiya is one of the few shows that I follow on a daily basis. I love Sanaya's and Ashish's acting and one of the main reasons I watch the show is because of their chemistry. I also like the side characters and the general story line. The one issue I had with the show was Paro's character being shown as a sixth grade pass village girl. I just find it hard to relate to her character. She might be the kindest, most beautiful woman around, but the fact that she is uneducated sort of kills the character for me. Even the say she speaks, she sounds more like a kaamwali bai than the lead. There is a hint of subjugation in the character that makes me a little uncomfortable. I would have found the Major Saab cute if her character was a little more polished. But right now it sounds more than a kaamwali bai calling her master saab. I hope Paro fixes her diction, the way Maithili speaks sounds more refined (the whole maareko/ taareko bit is a little grating). One big plus is that Sanaya is gorgeous and does all her outfits and close-ups justice. I sorta understand that the CV's are trying to show that she is trying to win Rudra over. I wanted to like the track as I usually dig these tracks with the cute/ innocent girl chasing the bad boy. But, in this case, I feel Paro is coming across as stupid rather than cute. The show went from her being an unpad/ gawar, guy jaisi chori to blindly believing in Thakur (another characteristic of a weak character) to blindly being devoted to Rudra because he saved her. Where are Paro's redeeming characteristics? She is the lead - I need some magic from her character that makes me believe that she is the heroine of the show. Just being nice doesn't cut it. I want to see some intelligence, some regal qualities to make her stand out as the main character.

I have nothing against Sanaya. I think she's doing a stellar job in the role she is given with the accent and all. I just have an issue with the character of Paro. I find it mediocre. She's nice, respectful, polite. But then so is Maithili. The CVs haven't shown me anything to regard her as the heroine. Other than her drop dead gorgeous looks and hot chemistry with Rudra there is nothing else that makes the character stand out.

For the rest I dont have much to say to you but I would like to clear one point ...the language that paro speaks in is NOT of a "kaamwaali bai"...it is local rajasthani dialect which is still very prevalent in rajasthan...my grandparents still speaks it and I still converse with them in it. So I find it absolutely OK when a village girls talk in that fashion. Besides considering the fact that hindi is not even sanaya's strong point she is doing a hell of a commendable job speaking the local dialect. Paro might be "unpadhh" for lack of resources but she definitely is not a "gawar" . She has proven that beyond doubt.

So, 'unpadh' people don't deserve love?!! 😲 How is she weak?!! She is the so emotionally strong, stronger than Rudra!! How does that make her weak?!! 😕 And I believe in the village she grew up in don't let girls study further!!

So what if she's uneducated? Can uneducated girls not fall in love? Are uneducated girls some alien species just because they're uneducated? Why is it wrong to portray Paro as uneducated? People complain about how dramas are unrealistic, well here's the cvs being realistic and people are still complaining. Many village girls do not complete their education, for whatever reason. And like someone mentioned above, Paro does not speak like a servant, she speaks her land's native dialect. Also, I don't think Paro is weak or unintelligent. You imply that the cvs are portraying Paro very ignorantly, but actually I feel that your post is very ignorant. Much love. 😊

Same here! I did not like Sanaya Irani or her character KKG in IPKKND...I thought Khushi was very annoying. But I absolutely LOVE Sanaya now (because of Rangrasiya) and I think Paro is an amazing character and Sanaya is portraying her beautifully 😃

Paro is a strong character , so what if she is uneducated , she is polite , have manners , hAve wisdom , she is naive and cute not at all like a kam wali bai , and Sanaya is perfect as paro , makers did a wonderful job by selecting her as paro

I like Sanaya as Khushi and as Paro.
I do believe that it will make for better serial viewing for watchers like me - if she shows some spirit and aggression - I enjoy it more when there is back and forth spirited conversation between the leads. However if this is how Paro was envisioned by the creators - no complaints from me - its their story to tell :)

Ok no offense and I never implied that Sanaya is not doing a good job. It's just the character of Paro I find mediocre. She's like any other village girl.. there is nothing that makes her special. If Sanaya wasn't so gorgeous I dont think I would have liked Paro at all.
