Chapter 14

February 4, 2014. 7:45 pm. Garg House.

Shail is very worried that Rachna has not come home yet and it is getting very late.

"Hey bhagwan, it's almost 8 o'clock and Rachna has still not come home yet. She has also left her phone at home and Kabir's phone is also unreachable. Where are they?"

"What happened mausi ma? Why are you so worried about Rachna? I'm sure she's fine. Her and Kabir probably just got late with their meeting."

"But she could have at least called us Gunjan! I'm so worried about her!"

"Okay let me do one thing. I'll call Raj, he works with Siddharth Kapoor. I'll ask when the meeting will be over."

Shail becomes relieved after hearing Gunjan's idea. "Yeah beta,hurry up and call Raj."

Gunjan calls Raj and is shocked to find out that Kabir and Rachna never reached for the meeting and neither did they call to cancel.

8:00 pm. Somewhere on the road.

Meanwhile Kabir and Rachna have finally reached a little dhaba. Kabir helps Rachna to sit in a chair and then goes to find a phone. He first calls dadi to let her know what happened and informs her that he will be home late. Then he calls the Garg's house. Mayank answers the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hi Mayank? This is Kabir."

"Yeah Kabir. Are you guys all right? Tai ji has been so worried about Rachna. What happened, where are you?"

"Uhm yeah Mayank, we're both fine. Actually my car broke down while we were on our way to the meeting and we both didn't have our phones so we walked for a few hours and just found a little dhaba. I just wanted to let you know that I'm trying to find a mechanic and we'll come home as soon as the car is fixed."

"Arre Kabir, you can get your car fixed tomorrow. First just tell me where you are, I'll come pick you up."

Kabir tells Mayank the location of the dhaba and then returns to where Rachna is sitting.

"Rachna, I just called home and Mayank is coming to pick us up."

Rachna just nods at Kabir and looks down.

"What happened Rachna? Is your foot hurting a lot?"

"No Kabir, I'm really hungry though."

"If you were hungry then why didn't you tell me? Just wait for a few minutes, I'll go get us some food."

Kabir comes back with 2 plates of chole bhature. Rachna's face brightens up when she sees that Kabir has brought her favorite food.

"Chole bhature! You remembered that they are my favorite?"

"How could I forget my Rachna Rasna's favorite food?" Kabir winks at her.

Rachna is very hungry, so she just attacks the food. Kabir smiles and just watches Rachna enjoying and savoring the food.

"What's wrong Kabir? Why aren't you eating? Eat na!"

"You eat. I'm full just watching you eat."

"You're full already? Oh now I understand, your hands are hurting na? From carrying me so long? Ok then, I'll feed you."

Rachna begins to feed Kabir with her hands very lovingly. They both are lost in each other's eyes.

Suddenly Rachna screams in pain and both of them are brought out of their dream world.

"Kabir!! You bit my finger! Ouch!"

Kabir looks very concerned. He grabs Rachna's finger and dunks it into the glass of cold water.

"Is that ok Rachna? I'm so sorry! I'm really sorry!"

Suddenly Rachna starts giggling. Kabir is quite confused.

"Rachna? Why are you laughing? Are you ok?"

"Got you! You should have seen your face Kabir! Wish I had taken a picture! Revenge complete, now we're even!"

Rachna smiles triumphantly with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes as Kabir looks on at her with a look of disbelief.

"What?! You were seriously joking? I can't believe I fell for that trick!"

"As they say: what goes around comes around! Ok, now let's finish our food! I'm starving!"

Kabir smiles and sits down in his chair as Rachna offers to feed him another bite.
