Actress Kangna Ranaut, who has been critically acclaimed for her performance in "Queen", however says she is not interested in awards as attending awards is an expensive affair.

"These days there are so many awards...and we have to sit there for five to six hours. To attend the awards, we have to do make up, hair style... bahut mehenga padta hai (its an expensive affair)...I am not saying awards are not genuine. I have received awards for 'Gangster', 'Fashion'...

"These days, there are so many awards... its like you are giving awards just to make everyone happy," Kangna told reporters during the press conference of "Revolver Rani" here Thursday.

The actress, who is playing the protagnist in "Revolver Rani", says this is the most difficult role she has ever played.

She is right.
When I was a child, I used to look forward to Filmfare and Lux Zee Cine Awards annually.
These days, there are way too many award ceremonies.

Best international icon, best style icon of the yea, best hair of the year, best eyes of the year the awards in India are useless.

They make categories to please the actors. Everyone gets one if they attend.

Thats precisely why she thinks its expensive...if you wear a
Burberry or vivienne Westwood or Dior it sets her back by

lakhs, then the shoes again designer shoes cost nothing

less than a lakh, then the jewellery and hair stylists

fee...comes to a couple of lakhs for just appearing...

so if you attend seven award shows, 35 lakh at the

minimum...kangana is a single earnin girl, hasnt done

as well as Pee Cee or Kat, has to save for her future.

she isnt Sonam with a Movie star dad to t ake care of

living expenses.

It's easy to ditch the awards when your not winning all the time. Awards like Filmfare are at least decent..and they don't have multiple categories to make everyone happy.

She has a point but it's also coming from someone who doesn't win awards for her good performances. Sounds like sour grapes.

All Award shows are rigged: Ajay Devgn

Actor Ajay Devgn has mastered the craft of acting in parallel cinema on the one hand, and rolling out Rs. 100-crore masala films on the other. And, he has also mastered the art of avoiding film award functions.

The actor indulged everyone with some frank talk at the HT Leadership Summit, 2013, in a rivetting session moderated by Vir Sanghvi, saying, "I feel all awards in India are rigged. You know how the business operates, it's a money making thing." On being prodded to explain, he said, "They have to sell the function to the TV channel, promising that big stars will turn up. So, whichever star says they'll come and perform, gets the award. I haven't been to an award function in 15 years. Even Aamir (Khan) doesn't go. They are such a farce."

He also confessed that he fooled the organisers of an award show once. "I kept telling them that I'd be there till the last moment. I never turned up, but I got three awards," he laughs.

Hope this helps u in knowing how awards system works..

^ I know about all that.
I also can't help but think she's saying this because she doesn't win that many awards.

What's the point of winning awards when there is no credibility in it.😕
