sorry for late update dears.
riya 'S POV
It's my birthday today and I am finally out of graduation . My parents
planned a huge party for me and invited everyone. I really appreciate it but I just
wanted a small get together with my family and close friends. My mom told me
that they had something important to tell me before I go to my new college. I plan on
taking Pediatrics as my major to become a Pediatrician.
The party started at 8pm and ended after 2am. It was a blast, everyone loved it
and said that it was the best party ever!
The next day, I started packing my stuff for college. When I finished my parents
called me and told me that they were gonna tell me something important.
I was nervous and I didn't even know why. I had a feeling that it wasn't gonna be
good.
"You're in an arranged marriage,sweetie," my mom blurts out.
I looked at them with wide eyes and shock. At first I didn't believe them and
started cracking up.
"Hahahahahaha, nice joke mom"
"ri please take this seriously," my dad said in a dead serious tone.
I think I'm about to faint but my mom kept calling my name.
"Why would you arrange my marriage? I can't believe you guys would do this to
me, your own daughter!" I ran for my car and drove away without saying
goodbye to my parents.
I was so mad, I ignored all their calls and unpacked my stuff. My roommate is lisa (my bff)
pretty cool, she has a great personality and doesn't ask me alot of questions.
"ri , someones at the door for you" lisa tells me.
I started walking to the door and saw my parents. I turned away from them and
walked to my room to fix my stuff.
"ri please let us explain" Dad tells me.
"Fine"
"Its not as bad as it sounds" Mom said and I just rolled my eyes at them.
"If you fall in love with someone and get engaged before your 22 thbirthday, the
arrange marriage won't happen but if you don't then you will have to marry
whoever we choose" Mom explains to me.
I didn't know what to say but atleast I have 3 years to find someone I can marry.
riya parents convo-
Rm(ri mom)-harish why did u lie to ri tht we allow her for love marriage whn we are strictly against this.
RD(ri dad)- u know avantika ,how reserved is riya .and i know tht she did not fall for anyone.
i just say this tht she did not get panick and can't conctrate on her study.whn the right time come we will tell her everything.
RM-hope ri can forgive us after this.
"I know she will forgive us" RD said before they left.but little did they know wht is store in the desitiny of ri.
I eventually for gave them after a few months and we now get together almost
every weekend.
I guess they just want the best for me because I am thier princess . They have always supported me in everything I do and its my time to
give them something back.
I haven't really dated anyone since I started college and my parents have been
really concerned, I just tell them that I haven't found that person yet.
