My biggest grouse with jodha is this all human do mistake so does jalal and jodha. But while jalal later realizes and tries to correct them Jodha never accepts her faults at all. She has this big ego that as rajvanshi princess she cannot do any wrong, she never realizes her faults. Only jalal is always at fault and he has to bend before her evrytime whether his fault or not.
You cannot love a person unconditionally if you have this ego. Because no matter whose fault you will expect other person to say sorry. But for how long? Jalal is madly in love with her will ignore all her faults but how long. Every human has a breaking point a level of self respect and someday he will think why should i always bend and say sorry even at her faults. When a human being thinks like that relationships break whether family, friends, relatives etc.
Till today not once jodha asked sorry for her misbehaviours to jalal while jalal has many times said i am sorry publicly and privately. I am fine and so is akbar if she does not say sorry many people cannot let go off egos and say sorry yet family and friends forgive because they know that human never meant to do that grave offence or say those words which hurt us. Buttt that is only if we know that person is sorry by his actions if not words.
But jodha here instead of taking equal if not majority blame(majority blame is jodha and sujamals 90% we can say 10% jalal blame) is putting alll blame on jalal in letter saying he did not trust her looking in her eyes. When has she left him to look into her eyes, they always have ghrina, apman, pratishod, vyavichar, ashobaniya vyavar etc written in them. Jalal was always scared to see, touch or even speak freely lest she misunderstand his actions as stree ki lalsa. How should jalal know that jodha was fine at him looking into her eyes?
Does she not always tell him i will allow you to touch me only when i am fine and she never told him once i am fine or i like you or love you. Is jalal some baba/saint that he will know wife is fine and will allow her to touch him, see in her eyes?
Women have different psychology they do not care if men(whether father, brother, son, husband) are angry etc they will give easily go and do things that men told them never to do. If jalal had said do not dare touch me till i say to jodha yet by now she would have gone and touched him without permission if she wanted to. That is woman psychology.
Men psychology is different. If someone has told them to keep away especially wife/girl friend etc they will take it as gospel truth because world will accuse a man if something goes wrong and it becomes public whether society, law etc.
Even on road if a girl says this man dashed me purposely while he never really has the world will trust a girl more not a guy whether that man is commoner or royal family. That is the perception of world because world knows usually girls will not put such arop wrongly. Same for dowry cases, spouse harassment many times women may be equally responsible or wrong but world/law belives women usually in these matters because societty knows and thinks usually woman cannot be wrong in such matters.
So Jalal is scared because of that psychology only. He may be an emperor a husband of jodha but first he is a man. He will be scared that if wife accuses him all believe wife not him that is how society is?? Was he not scared when jodha entered his hojra and he had her painting in his room. If for a painting he is so scared what about looking in her eyes etc how much more nervous he will be?
Hence jalal has never dared look into her eyes may be. Jodha never understood this simple thing? And instead is accusing him of not folowing wedding vows. Has she followed all wedding vows? No, she is still virgin after a year of marriage. Forget virgin factor a wife must give emotional support or remove loneliness of husband has she done that very rarely. Jalal still feels lonely without anyone supporting him or understanding his mind not his wives, mother, sister, friends none. All expect him to be role model husband, son, brother what about being understanding wife, mom, sister to him.
Now i truly realize why suajamal said you are lucky to have such a good sister do you know why? Yes Bakshi was selfish and scared of sharifuddin hence gave ark to ake jodha have pregnant symptoms buttt she knows sharifuu lusting after jodha yet not once she went and complained to her brother, not once she went and attacked her bhabhi(usually women never see their husband at fault its other woman only watch any tv report usually other women is accused by wife of stealing her husvband as if husband is never at fault) because she knows that her husband at fault and she does not want another misunderstanding bet jodha-jalal.
Imagine in 21st century if any other women by now hungama in family, full family would have been split down right with all sort of accusations. But Bakshi in that sense is innocent. If ruqaiah was in bakshi place she would have made life hell for jodah and toold jalal too that jodha had tried to attact her husband sharifuudin and jodha would have been told to leave house by now by hamida and jalal to save bakshi marraige and remember she is pregnant all this tension can kill her baby. So jalal would definetly have told jodha to leave if he know sharifu lsted after her atleast temproarly. Hence sujamal says bakshi is a very good sister.
And that letter was a tapad in disguise. Every sentence of that letter was accusing jalal as if he was wife beating, cruel, vyvichari kind of husband who has given her all pain, never understood her treated her like door mat etc. While reality is opposite jalal is the oppressed husband not jodha the oppressed wife. Instead of writing such a letter if i were jalal it would be better she had stabbed a knife in my heart. That is what she did with every sentence every word in tha letter stabbed his heart repeatedly. Now all life jalal will think of the words in that letter and their relationship will never be an open honest realtionship. Jalal will be scared at every step thinking will she misunderstand me. He will be living hell in this relationship no eqaul relation only jalal will be pleasing and bending to all her wishes because he love her very less from her side almost. This letter has done that. Already ruqaiah has made his life hell now jodha has also joined her add to that maham, adham, sharifu, abul mali, enemy of states etc etc i must say jalal is very very strong minded human to remain sane. Any lesser mortal would have run off, killed himself or gone mad. Bravo to real akbar if he still became Akbar the great after facing all this. Though i am sure very sure real akbar would not have taken all this from his badi ammi maham, forget mother, sister and definetly not from any wife for sure. A person can do great work only if he has peace of mind at home i am sure akbar definetly would not have had so much troubles from wives, badi ammi's etc that is why he could concentrate on administration and ruling.
