No ranvis family is not poor at all if you watch the initial episodes where chota ranvi kidnaps a girl from the hospital believing she is his sister he tells her we have the biggest house in the pind...ranvis house is just too traditional one part looks really old and has the old fashioned stove and all but after sampooran left Ratan had to do all the work so their financial condition might have gone down a bit!
