Bhanwra badaa nadaan haaye,
Bagiyaan ka mehmaan haaye,
Phir Bhi Jaane Na, Jaane Na, Jaane Na
Kaliyan Ki Musakaan Haay
Bhanvara Bada Naadaan...
Translation : The lover is such a naive novice. He is the center of attention for the garden. He is the one who makes the flowers smile. Yet, he behaves as though he knows nothing and keeps showing that he feels and understands nothing. The flowers of the garden keep waiting for him to realize how much he is loved , but that ignorant naive lover just flies around the garden in his own naive thoughts.
Think about it.
Rudra carried Paro like a bruised flower to his room, not allowing her to fall even if his own feet tripped. He wrapped her in blankets , had all his panic veins bursting at her shivering ,he even promised her that he is not going anywhere leaving her. He was alarmed, in pain , in anxiety as he wanted to stop her suffering immediately. He took care of her like a child - drying her hair and face, speaking to her in her partial slumber state , innocently telling her that her clothes need to be changed, breaking all the self-made rules and getting Maithli for help, telling Maithli to tend to Paro's feet properly , and cradling it as though it was made of feathers, his own voice in sync with Paro's groan, smoothly putting Maithli out of the way and taking back his self-proclaimed right to take care of his Paro, rushing to her side like lightning when Paro's head fell sideways and supporting it with his own hand, telling Maithli to leave and looking after Paro throughout the night, scanning her sleeping face with the face of a cynic and eyes of a soulmat. To an extent, that he voluntarily puts his palm next to Paro's face - guided by something inside him - and Paro's face gently goes back to his palm. Seeing Paro sleep peacefully on his palm, holding on to his wrist , Rudra thinks of caressing her face but the cynic trapped in Caligynephobia ( fear of beautiful women ) , he pulls his hand back and goes to sleep. Relaxed that Paro is fine now and fast asleep on his hand.
Beautiful? Yes. Moving? Almost. Hopeful? Very much. But you cannot miss the underlying sadness of it all. Because inspite of all this YRF hero-like TLC that Rudra gives Paro, he makes it a point to tell a sleeping Paro - " You are nobody of mine. You have no relationship with me. Are you listening to me , Paro? Are you?"
The point that am trying to make here is that Rudra may love Paro with unhinged passion and intensity, he may feel for her the way he has never felt for a woman. But...the acceptance and confession is where the actual problem is. How will you ever get it out of his mouth that he loves Paro. What will you do to force him to face that every single feeling he has for Paro and the love that Maithli and Dilsher can so easily see - and even they can't escape being touched by it. Maithli had such affectionate respect for Rudra today - you can almost see that gleam of sentiment in her eyes as she softly tries to show the truth to Rudra like an elder sister would tell her errant bratty brother. Maithli adores Rudra and Paro. You can see it there, totally.
Rudra can do everything for Paro. Protect her, fight for her, embrace her, shield her... but all these unsaid feelings will be some tough love for Paro.
What Dilsher tells Rudra are hard facts that Maithli dipped in honey and Dilsher dipped in aspirin. While Maithli told Rudra that he cares about Paro way beyond the definition of humanity and sympathy - and he better stop hiding behind excuses of accusations of crimes that Paro didn;t even do, Dilsher tells Rudra that even though he cannot understand what Paro saw in him , he hopes that Rudra understands that Paro is his soulmate.
Paro? Oh, poor baby. She has no idea of how and what Rudra did for her while she slept like a baby. So, you almost facepalm when she wakes up the next morning and gives a 1960s heroine reaction about ' kal raat' and 'kapde'. Rudra agrees with you and he also does a facepalm and leaves the room to get ready for office. Paro! Your behoshi makes you miss a lot of epic moments, my child.
Am I glad that Dilsher told Paro that Rudra is such a twisted case due to a 'great' childhood' that his parents gave him and admit it, ruined him for his life? I am. At least there is one thing that Rudra cannot be held responsible for. But what is the irony here? Paro is and will continue to bear the wrath of what was fantastically gifted to Rudra for almost 15 years of his life. Facepalm again!
I liked the scene between Dilshoo and Paro when Dilshoo gave Paro his blessings, hoped that she becomes his Bahurani and blessed her from both Mala's and his own side. Paro is all happy and tearful as she is all set to become the Bahurani of this haweli... but you facepalm again as you can remember what Rudra said and you saw what Rudra is going to do after the kaand that Sumer has done.
Anyway, one small request little Paro. Please don't wear that sari and go in front of Rudra. Its his mother's sari and we don't want to even think what he will say/do if he saw you in that sari. Stuff it somewhere in your trunk and stick to your gold lehengaa.Apne aap pe aur Rudra pe taras khaao, Paro.
