Have been watching all the hullabaloo from the sidelines quite amused ! When it started QH was touted to be a story of the brother's clash...a tale of two warring families. I guess that was the reason actors were signed for short yearly contracts as there was no lead as such. They did not envisage the KSG Factor when it all began. In no time it was his fan following that made QH top the charts and after that there was no looking back to the original plot.KSG became the lodestar and everyone revolved around him as the viewers only wanted him in every frame. The channel with one eye always ..na ...both eyes on trps...began to divert from the original storyline and milk KSG to the hilt.
This is how the the plot went askew.Every time an effort was made to sideline Asad ( as in Tanveer/ Zoyaan)the viewers made such a hue and cry that they had to revert back to AsYa as that was all that the audience wanted to see in QH.
It is my view that this crippled QH ... the family drama that was to be. KSG is an immense talent and he overshadows everyone on the screen. With my experience of his shows limited to just DMG and QH I have found only Mohnish Bahl able to steal the scene from him...the rest were always basking in his glow.
Because of this QH floundered, spluttered and derailed finally when KSG quit. It has happened before in DMG too! No fault of Karan's ..he is just a brilliant talent. He should be thanked for giving QH the exposure that it received .Fans were behind him and Asad the day he re-appeared on screen after a long hiatus of two years ..it will be the same story when he comes back to screen now again ...hopefully the gap will be shorter this time as KSG has promised us.
There are unsubstantiated rumours of a two lead story that Gul is planning ! Once bitten twice shy is what I would think...Gul should know better than to cast anyone at par with KSG...his charisma is too powerful to accommodate another lead in the same frame.IF that is her plot and she is already working on it I would seriously advise a double role for KSG ..let him play the victor and the vanquished ..no one has done it before on the small screen ..he has the talent to do it . IT may work as the fans can't get enough of him in any case!
Coming back to QH ..the last week seems to have brought it back to the original track ...the only missing link is Ayaan ! We finally have a family drama with many contestants ...the focus is no longer on Asad !
I absolutely enjoyed the entire drama of the past few episodes with all the action built around the funeral of Rashid ..the man who was the fountainhead of the two families ..can not call him a patriarch as he did not rise to that stature ever. But the two grieving wives were his as were all the children( Ayaan of of course sadly missing). On the periphery there are the outsiders of the immediate family ..in the wings as they can not attack in this moment of grief..but raring to strike! Each one plotting their next move!
The channel of course is planning to execute its own version of the future ..there is going to be a leap ..sorry two leaps ...that may bury the ghost of KSG that yet haunts QH !
Let him go ..as he said he has moved on so should we and QH!He will re-cast his spell on us as only he can ..another stage another ID ...adieu AAK1 just as the dil- ka- doctor Armaan before him!!!
Let the PH give accolades to a powerful ensemble cast that performed well throughout. We can appreciate their brilliance before bidding them farewell and ringing in the new !Allow them also to give a proper closure to SJ in her first TV show... she rose brilliantly to pair with KSG forming one of the most sizzling jodi's on Indian television.
For once forget all the negativity ..the trps and all the that goes with it ...just enjoy the last of QH 1 ..a show that will be always remembered in the history of ITV for the aura and the furore it created around itself !

I would like to add that where the Ch /Ph erred grossly was to underestimate the viewer's connection with Karan /Surbhi as Asya. That was a bond they should never have tampered with. In hindsight also it is apparent that had they brought a proper closure to AsYA with KSG and SJ at the helm the outcry would not have been so huge. The channel was immune to its viewer's emotions and drowned in its own ego. They should have performed the nikah with KSG as Asad and then moved on to the current track and replaced him.The fans who had been waiting forever for them to wed were right in feeling cheated. Keeping the viewers sentiments at the forefront of all considerations is paramount for any entertainment media.
Zee I hope realised the blunder and have learned a lesson from this as have other channels.
Do not underestimate the power of the remote and the viewer's intelligence. The time has arrived when they will have to change strategy and provide quality entertainment across the board ..not just cater to trp 'aunties'

A very sensible, and most definitely well thought out post and view.

I second it.

And thank you, very very refreshing to see a balanced and sensible write-up.

Thank you !

Wish more would look at the whole issue a bit more objectively .I came forth as so much negativity pained me.I also felt the young are spending too much time bashing each other on social media and felt some objectivity will curtail the furore and divert them to more positive activity.

Well I am 70+ so all are young for me I guess! But here I was thinking of those who are still studying and have a future to build for themselves .These endless parleys on social forums must take away from prime time. Some entertainment is required for sure to relax but we must draw the line somewhere . Life must not become an IF or FB page. However much we may appreciate a show or an artist let our admiration not consume all our time ...there is a life beyond this world.

Just my point of view ..I came forward to share as I foresee another time wasting exercise brewing up with the planned leaps and the new entrants. Sorry if I offended anyone here
