Epilogue

Asad paced through the hospital corridor. His handsome face carried the frown lines which obviously indicated to the turmoil his heart is going through. How can he not worried when his Zoya was in the operation theatre!!!

7 days back

Everything had fallen into place in Khan Mansion. Once obedient Dilshad now ruled Khan Mansion showing to Rashid and Ayaan that her threats were not hollow. Not able to suffer the humiliation Ayaan had set off to somewhere from their life for good. Rashid who valued money more than self-respect stayed back in Khan Mansion assuming the position of obedient slave which was left by Dilshad. After that day he never dared to raise his fingers on Asad and Zoya.

As for Asad and Zoya, their love story just started. Even though they were not married, it didn't stop them from showering love on each other. Asad had coaxed his mother into shifting Zoya to his room. Dilshad, who was well aware of the intention behind that move agreed to him as she knew that those love birds need happiness in their life. Asad and Zoya made up for the lost time by making love to each other whenever they could.

It was during dinner when Asad got a call. He excused himself and went to attend the call.

After 5 minutes or so he came back to the dining hall running. Zoya who was eating her food suddenly found herself in his arms as he lifted her up and twirled her around whooping in joy. She was astonished for a moment but gave in as she giggled along with him while Dilshad looked at the duo in smile.

After sometime he put her down not before giving her a kiss on her forehead.

"Asad, why are you soo happy?"

"Ammi, do you remember I took Zoya to an ophthalmologist last week? Just now that doctor called me. He told me that he referred Zoya's case to Dr. Hussain who is a world famous ophthalmologist. And you know what, he is coming here after 7 days to operate Zoya"

Tears flowed from Zoya's eyes hearing that. She could get her eyes sight back, she could see the world once again but most importantly, she could see her Asad, to whom she had lost her heart and soul.

Present

He could still remember how excited she was in the following days. She had prepared a bucket list to do the things as soon as she got her sight. He was no less happy. He was on cloud nine to see her smile.

Now as he paced outside the operating theatre which held his heart and love he couldn't help but to feel a little bit scared. What if something happened to her. No!!! He almost screamed as soon as that thought crossed his mind.

It's like God spared him from further agony; the light went off in operating theatre. The doctor came out of the room informing that she is fine and the operation seems like successful but could only be confirmed after a few hours once they removed her bandage. So he waited for that moment with bated breath.

A few hours have passed and that crucial moment came. Asad stood in the threshold of the room waiting for the doctor to remove the bandage. He sent a prayer to the almighty to give his Zoya her sight back.

As the doctor removed the bandage Zoya slowly fluttered her eyelids to open. She suddenly closed her eyes as she felt the sudden light bind her. With the encouragement from the doctor she slowly opened her eyes. As she did so, her vision came into focus on a man who was standing in the threshold of the room, his eyes closed and hands raised in prayer. One look at him and she knew it was her Asad. An involuntary gasp escaped her lips causing him to open his eyes and look at her.

"Asad"

That was what all needed for Asad. With lightning speed he reached her bed and took her in bone crushing hug. After sometime which felt like eternity, he parted away from her and started dropping kisses on her eyelids causing her to giggle. That moment was pure bliss. Only the kiss and giggles echoed in the room. They sat there basked in the glory of their love forgetting about the world around them. Truth to be told, it was their own Shangri-La. There they drank elixir of their love, claimed each other and lived for an eternity.
