Before starting this fun debate let me please make one thing clear that Javed Akhtar is my fav. judge but for argument sake I am supporting Anu Malik on this thread alone. So if you see me posting otherwise on regular threads, please don't get confused. 😃 I hope it is allowed. Let me know soon.

Wishing luck to Sonya, Huzi and Manisha. Thanks Buttercup and Megs for this wonderful contest. I will start posting now.

I agree tht anu has been judging indian Idol for the past two season, But i dnt agree tht he should b given any rights to say a last word...
Alisha..is a famous singer n she knws in out of abt singing...
If anu will make the last say all the time..i dnt think so we need other alisha

In reality television there is nothing called a set rules and injustice. Reality shows are anything but fair. We see wild card entries, emotional dramas, regionalism; so many things associated with such shows that either we just watch the show for the fun elements and occasional fabulous renditions or keep on arguing about the unfairness associated with the show. I am afraid but we will have more fodder for the latter.

Now coming to the main topic, Is Anu Malik's veto justified? Yes, it is.

Why? Because he is the only one with maximum experience in the show.

As we have already seen Udit Narayan, a renowned singer with 22 years of experience was flustered while judging the show for the first time. He didn't know what to say or whom to support. I can't even imagine him getting the veto power.

Alisha Chinai is a novice in judging such shows too.

The only other experienced judge is Javed Akhtar but he is not a regular. From the beginning Indian Idol producers have maintained that Javed saab is the 4 th but a guest judge. A guest judge cannot be given veto.

So when it comes to three regular judges Alisha Chinai, Udit Narayan and Anu Malik, the one with maximum experience in the show is worthy of this right.

Should Anu Malik be allowed to break a tie? I do believe that that is fair...I mean it isn't fair for the contestant....but if the particapant is not a good singer, Anu has that right to kick them out...there are some contestants that he kicked out, which the other judges and i thought were good....but most of the time....he is right....so I think that it is fair for Anu to break a tie between The 3 other judges
Anu is a judge and he has that hak to not vote for a particapant....
😳
So why is Anu , in my opinion, allowed to break ties? <<<Anu has the right to either break a tie or to kick a particapant out of the contest because he has been in the show longest and has most experience with good or bad voices...and he knows what to do when he hears 1......😳>>
