Ramanand Sagar's 'Prithviraj Chauhan', which tracks the valiant Rajput kings life has been running on Star TV for over a year now, but yet he young Prithviraj refuses to grow up! Simply put, the makers have extended the role of the young Prithviraj, since the latter has struck a popular chord with the audience and has thus appealed basically to the younger generation.
The series is being beamed at 9pm on the weekends and was shot after 10 years of painstaking research. The story traces the journey of this warrior king and highlights the important aspects of duty, bravery, patriotism, friendship, family and romance. While the series is set in the 11th century, it will yet introduce a modern look in the various aspects like costumes, production design and language, thus maintaining a fine balance between the authentic and the contemporary.
The series divided into five phases traces the protagonist's life, right from his birth until his death. But with the fact of the younger Prithviraj (Rajat Tokas) playing his part so well, the same has not got very well with Angad Bedi, who has been approached to play the senior Prithviraj Chauhan. He says, "I haven't heard from the makers yet. The makers extended the young Prithviraj's role as he has become very popular. I am still waiting to don the costume". With so much popularity of the young Prithviraj Chauhan, we wonder whether Angad Bedi will actually make it to the Television screen after all!
