YRF's 3 film deal - Page 3

I believe if they would have promoted Bewakoofiyaan and Aurangazeeb well , Those films would have worked

Regardless I have hopes from Habib to give us something good but YRF looks all set to screw him up

Shraddha was smart in breaking her 3 film deal and choosing to do Ashiqui 2 rather than sit waiting for a project by them. YRF would have just given her a project smaller than earlier or forgotten about her completely after her first film bombed, the way they are making some of their existing talents wait now. They have become more flexible now though, both Rhea and Saquib who were signed long back and have not completed their contracts yet are doing films outside.

Bewakoofiyan and Aurangzeb would definitely have done better if they had been promoted better. YRF totally knows how to ruin their own projects. Dharma promotes even their smaller projects so well, YRF doesn't even release the trailers on time. And then when the project fails, it is the actors who face the brunt of it as they are given smaller projects rather than a chance to make up for the loss and get back in the race.

Speaking of YRF, what's going on with Parineeti's next movie? It releases in May and there's no trailer. Are they going to dump that film like Aurgenzaab and Bewakoofiyan?

@bold: Also, I think they aim to create a set of actors with loyalty and goodwill towards YRF, so that even after they become stars they continue doing projects with YRF. YRF Talent handles them all and hence that goodwill continues. For example: Ranveer and Pari are doing films with them even though their contracts are over and swear loyalty to them. Probably that is why YRF are now taking those promising newbies under their wings who do not have godfathers to launch or guide them. The newcomers also feel benefitted this way as they feel they have people to stand by them and guide them in the industry, and to whom they can always return later in case of a bad run, if they manage to keep the goodwill intact, that is.

I am looking forward to Daawat e Ishq, Habib's Ishaqzaade was brilliant. But there seems to be no buzz at all. I think it will either be a flop or an average grosser. Ishaaqzaade was a hit so I'm hoping this will be too, providing the story is good.

Arungzeb was actually a good film, lack of promotions meant it bombed. Pari needs to start signing films with other banners..!

Also sometimes they simultaneously shoot two films, that's what Arjun did I think.. So it's not always true that they will wait for your first to do well
