CHAPTER 10. GEET'S RE-ENTRY IN MAAN'S LIFE PART II

After a while, Geet frowned and asked, "Aur woh ladka kaun hai jo Khushi ke peeche peeche chal raha tha?" Pinky got excited, "Arre! Woh! Woh toh Chota DD hai!" She sighed and stared dreamily at a distance. Geet rolled her eyes and asked in a sarcastic tone, "I guess Chota DD matlab Chota Dhak Dhak hai?" Pinky nodded not noticing her tone and Geet again rolled her eyes. She nudged Pinky and Pinky came out of her dream and huffed, "Unka poora naam Arnav Singh Raizada hai! Business ki duniya mein ASR! Pata hai woh pehle Lucknow mein rehte the! Unki Ma toh unke paida hote hi chal basi! Aur unke pappaji unke office ke fire accident mein chal base jab ASR sirf 5 saal ke the! Unka unki Anjali Di ke sivaay koi nahi tha! Par phir unki Naani Dilli se aayi aur un dono ko Dilli le aayi aur unhein apna naam yaani ki Raizada ka naam diya! 4 years pehle woh MK Sir ko ek business convention mein mile aur apna Fashion House ka idea sunaaya! MK Sir impress hue aur unke guarantor banke AR Sir ko bank se loan lene mein help ki! Tab se dono achche dost hain! AR Sir ka ek fashion House hai, AR Fashion House! Agar MK Sir Construction King hai toh AR Sir Fashion Prince! Chaar saal mein AR ko North region ka top Fashion House banaaya! ASR toh tez hi nahi good looking bhi hai! Kitne handsome hai ASR! Haaye! Kitna bhi Chote DD ke baare mein sochlo woh kabhi mere nahi honge! Kitni ladkiyaan unki paagal hai par woh toh Khushi ke deewane hai!"

Geet smiled excitedly, "Matlab kya woh ek doosre se pyaar karte hain?" Pinky shook her head and sat on her seat, "Nahi Re! Sirf AR Sir usse pyaar karte hain, Khushi toh ASR nafrat karti hai." Geet's eyes widened, "Par nafrat kyun?" Pinky huffed, "Yeh do saal pehle ki baat hai. ASR ko ek Fashion College mein Judge ke taur pe invite kiya gaya tha. Wahaan saare students ne apna apna designs judgement ke liye dikhaaya! Participants mein se ek thi Khushi! ASR toh Khushi ko dekhte hi fan hogaye! Khushi ki chirpiness aur uski haazir jawaabi ASR ka dil le gayi. ASR kabhi MK Sir ke ghar nahi gaye isliye woh kabhi Khushi se nahi mile the! Us din us competition mein pehli baar ASR ne Khushi ko dekha! Aur joh deewane hue uske us din, aaj tak uska asar gaya nahi!", Pinky giggled excitedly while Geet smiled softly as she processed the information.

After few seconds, Geet spoke up, "Par aisa kyun lag raha tha ki Khushi unhein pasand hi nahi karti?" "Pasand?", Pinky exclaimed and looked at Geet in wonder, "Pasand chodo Jalebi toh unse nafrat karti hai! Pyaar se hi unhein Paagal bulaati hai, nafrat se kya kya bulaati hai tujhe kya bataaun!" Geet huffed, "Par yeh nafrat kyun?" Pinky rolled her eyes, "Arre! Jab ASR ko Khushi pe dil aaya na toh woh Khushi ke peeche peeche har jagah pahunch jaate the! College ke liye nikalti toh ghar ke saamne gaadi leke aate aur kehte I will drop you!", College se ghar ke liye nikalti toh wahaan pe bhi aa jaate, shopping karne jaati toh wahaan bhi dhamak padte the! Khushi ke Devi Maiyya ko bhi nahi choda, Mandir mein bhi peeche aate the! Aur agar Khushi kyun peecha kar rahe ho' pooche toh bol dete the I like you! I want you to be mine!' Ek baar toh Khushi use thappad hi maarne waali thi utna unke attitude ne use ghussa dilaaya! Par Khushi ki bhi koi galti nahi hai! ASR ko ghamand hogaya tha ki woh ASR hain isliye jo woh chaahte hain wahi hona chaahiye! Par Khushi ko toh aise logon se nafrat hai jo yeh sochke chalte hain ki har cheez unke hisaab se honi chaahiye! Pehli baar jab mile toh ASR ne coffee shop me milne ke liye seedha demand kiya, request nahi ki aur yeh baat Khushi ko bilkul pasand nahi aayi! Aur usne na keh diya! Aur ASR ko na sunna pasand nahi toh woh Khushi ke peeche hi padh gaye! Yeh bhi nahi socha ki Khushi ko woh pasand hai ki nahi!"

"Toh jab Khushi unki akkad dekhti toh woh na kehti! Aur ASR ko toh na sunne ki aadat nahi hai! Toh bas woh aur ziddi ho jaate aur Khushi ko aur follow karte! Unhein laga ki unki zidd ke aage ek na ek din Khushi ghutne tek degi! Lekin humaari Khushi bhi kya kam ziddi hai! Ek toh ziddi upar MK Sir ki behen! ASR ne use khoob sataaya par Khushi ne haan nahi kahaa! In sab mulaakaaton mein ASR ko Khushi se pyaar hogaya! Pehle toh sirf attraction tha par Khushi ki zidd, Khushi ka style, uski innocence aur uski sachche dil ne ASR ko hi jeet liya!"

Geet was lost in her the story so much that it took her a while to understand that Pinky had stopped speaking. She looked at Pinky with trepidation, "Phir kya hua?" Pinky shrugged, "Phir kya hona tha? Sabko pata tha ki ab ASR serious ho chuke hain Khushi ke liye! MK Sir ko bhi yeh realize hua aur unhonein ASR ko meeting pe bulaaya! Pata hai? ASR ne MK Sir se Khushi ka haath bhi maang liya aur MK Sir ne unki deewangi ko dekhke haan bhi kardi!" Geet was beyond confused now, "Toh phir problem kya hai?" Pinky huffed and rolled her eyes, "Haayo Rabba! Problem toh khud Khushi hai! Agar main hoti toh itne handsome insaan ko toh galti se bhi na chodti! Lekin yeh bewakoof hai ki ASR ko ek ghaas bhi nahi daalti!" Geet frowned, "Par kyun?" Pinky shook her head and sarcastically mumbled, "Kyunki Jalebi andhi aur paagal hai! Jo aise insaan ko haath se jaane de rahi hai!" Geet giggled at her friend's antics. Pinky sighed, "Actually kya haina Khushi jab bhi ASR ko dekhti hai woh uss ghamandi aur akdu ASR ko dekhti hai jo yeh sochte the ki duniya unki saamne jhukni chaahiye! Lekin woh aaj ke ASR ko nahi dekhti jo ab aisa nahi sochte! Aur jo unse pyaar karte hain, sachche dil se! In short, humaari Khushi Elizabeth hai aur humaare ASR Darcy hai aur yahaan chal rahi hai Indian style Pride & Prejudice!" Geet giggled as she remembered reading Pride & Prejudice in her college days! Hey Babaji! Novel kise padhna hai jab sab kuch yahaan live chal raha hai! Pinky continued, "Uss Elizabeth ko toh Darcy ki akad ke peeche ka sweet banda dikh gaya, pata nahi iss Elizabeth ko kab apne Darcy ki sachchi surat dikhaayi degi!" Geet shook her head as Pinky's narration ended. Hey Babaji! Kya kahaani hai in dono ki!

Soon, Khushi stormed out of the cabin followed by Arnav. As they passed Pinky and Geet without looking at them, Geet looked at them curiously. Khushi kept on checking back that Arnav was following her. Arnav did not notice it as she did it very secretly but Geet noticed it. "Lagta hai log sach kehte hain!" Pinky, who was arranging the mails as per the person it was addressed to, mumbled without looking up, "Kya?" Geet smiled, "Yahi! That there is a very thin line between Love and Hate!" "Huh!", Pinky looked at her in confusion and Geet shook her head.

Suddenly, Pinky mumbled, "Chal Geet! Main tujhe MK Sir se milwaati hoon aur tu unse job ke baare mein baat kar lena! Ab woh free honge!" Geet nodded and both walked towards Maan's cabin. As Pinky knocked on the door, she asked, "May I come in, Sir?" and they heard Maan ask her to come in. Pinky entered and dragged Geet in too. Geet felt her breath leave as she saw Maan sitting in his office attire. If she thought he was handsome the day they met, today he was looking breathtaking to her. She continued to stare at him dreamily while Pinky gulped and looked at Maan nervously knowing that he would be angry at her for being late. Maan was seated in his chair looking at a file in her chair. He remained studying the file making Pinky squirm uncomfortably. After few minutes of making his employee squirm, Maan spoke up but without looking up, "Toh Miss Pinky! Aaj aapne faisla liya hai ki kyun na KC mein late aaya jaaye, right?" Pinky gulped and mumbled, "Right Sir!", then realising what she just said she shook her head vigorously, "Nahi Sir!" Maan continued speaking, "Tumhein laga ki KC tumhara ghar hai! Tum kabhi bhi aao aur kabhi bhi jaao! Kise farak padhta hai, right?" "No Sir!", Pinky squeaked. Maan continued to look at the file but Geet got the feeling that he was not reading it as all he seemed to do is glare at a page. Hey Babaji! Itna ghussa! Maan continued speaking but raised his voice a bit, "Tum jaanti ho, right that I can fire you any minute right now because of your indiscipline?" Geet and Pinky's eyes widened in shock at Maan's words. Hey Babaji! Ek choti si galti ke liye itni badi sazaa! Galat hai Babaji! Galat hai! Pinky toh inhein Dhak Dhak bulaati hai inhein toh Dhak Dhak nahi Dusht Daanav bulaana chaahiye! Ab toh mujhe hi kuch karna padega!

Maan felt his anger grow at the silence, "Ab tum kuch bologi ya seedha tumhein FIRE KAR DOON?", he nearly shouted at the end. Suddenly, he heard a soft voice call him, "Maan!" and all his anger drained and his eyes widened in shock. Geet! He looked up and was surprised to see Geet standing behind Pinky. For a second, Maan thought she was a hallucination but Pinky seemed to be staring at her too. He got up from his seat and looked at her in wonder. She was dressed in a beautiful maroon Patiala salwar kameez and seemed to look like an angel to him. He had already fallen for her the day they met first time when she looked like a mess, but today she had cleaned herself up and Maan could not stop himself from staring at her. Pinky turned to look at Maan to gauge his reaction only to be shocked at the tenderness displayed on her boss's face for her friend. Yaani ki aag dono taraf lagi hai!

Maan and Geet continued to stare at each other for a while and Pinky could not stop herself after a while. She cleared her throat and they came out of their day dream and looked awkwardly around. Geet spoke up softly, "Maan! Pinky ke late hone ke liye I am sorry! Woh kya haina, kal hi main yahaan aayi hoon toh dono ko saath mein ready hone mein late hogaya! Aage se nahi hoga!" Maan looked at her the moment she started speaking and once she stopped speaking Maan shook his head, "Koi baat nahi Miss. Hoshiarpur! It is OK!" It is OK? Pinky had to blink few times in shock. Oye Geet! Tu ne yeh kya kar diya? Mere strict MK Sir ko Maan the Romeo bana diya! Geet blushed at his words while Maan continued to stare at her. After few seconds of staring contest between Maan and Geet, Pinky started feeling uncomfortable, "Sir! Main jaaun?" Maan and Geet came out of their trance and again they looked away awkwardly. Maan nodded, "Tum jaa sakti ho!" Pinky scrambled away gladly.

Maan and Geet stood staring around uncomfortably for a while when Geet could not stand the silence, "Aap kaiso Maan?", she spoke softly and shyly and Maan smiled, "I am fine! Tum theek ho?" Geet nodded and they again lapsed into silence. After a while, Geet had enough of this silence. Being a natural chatter box, silence was painful to her, "Main yahaan baithun?" Geet pointed towards the chair in front of the desk and Maan came out of his thoughts, "Huh! Haan! Kyun nahi!" Geet sat down and then looked at Maan standing, "Aap bhi baithiye!" Maan looked at her in surprise for a second and then nodded. He sat down in his chair and they looked at each other smiling uneasily. Neither of them were sure as to how to continued talking now that they were out of the Jungle and into his world. Geet spoke up, "Maan! Mujhe aap se mere job ke baare mein baat karni thi? Aapne kahaa tha na ki aap mujhe job denge!" Maan spoke up without thinking, "Haan! Maine kahaa tha! Toh bataao kis type ka job tum kar sakti ho and I will create a vacancy for you!" "Kya?", Geet looked at Maan in shock. Create a vacancy? Hey Babaji! Maan's eyes widened as he realized what he just said. He closed his eyes tightly in embarrassment. Yeh mujhe kya hogaya hai? Yeh main kaisi baatein kar raha hoon? He looked at Geet and smiled, "I mean agar tumhaare laayak vacancy ho toh I will tell you! Waise kahaa tak padhi ho tum?"

Geet smiled and that is when he noticed a bag on her shoulder. She turned to the bag and pulled out a file with her resume and certificates. Pinky has helped her make resume yesterday evening itself. She handed them to him and spoke up, "Maine Arts main graduation kiya with English as honours aur chuttiyon mein Stenography aur Tally bhi seekhi hai!" Maan browsed through her file and then nodded, "Theek hai! I can give you a job! Mere secretary ki post hai! I hope you are ok with it!" It had been ages since Maan had kept a secretary for him. Every time he hired one, they used to run away after seeing his anger and rude behavior so he stopped hiring a secretary. But he had a feeling that this new secretary won't have any problem with him because the moment she came in front of him his anger seem to vanish away. He smiled at her and Geet grinned eagerly, "Chalega Maan chalega! Hey Babaji! Ab toh mujhe aapko Maan Sir kehna hoga!" Maan shook his head, "Tum mujhe Maan bulaa sakti ho. I don't mind!" Maan was shocked at the words that came out of his mouth. He did not allow even Sasha to call him Maan, then why he was allowing Geet?

Geet shook her head, "Nahi! Maan Sir hi sahi hai! Main nahi chaahti ki aapke staff aap pe ilzaam lagaaye ki aap unfair ho!" Maan was surprised at her words. Soon, they continued to speak about other details of the job and what Maan expected from his secretary.

Pinky was chewing her nails as she waited by her desk for Geet to come out of Maan's cabin. Hey Geet ke Babaji! MK Sir ne kya kahaa hoga? Kya ho raha hoga abhi wahaan? Suddenly, the cabin door opened and Geet came out. Without caring about others, Pinky ran over to Geet, "Job mili?" Geet happily grinned and nodded and both the girls hugged each other. Pinky excitedly asked, "Waise kaun si post MK Sir ne di tujhe?" Geet replied, "Maan ki I mean Maan Sir ki Secretary ki post!" Pinky blinked twice. Wasn't that post removed after MK Sir's anger sent a girl home crying? Par mujhe kya? Waise MK Sir ka ghussa toh Get ke saamne phus ho jaata hai! Shaayad isliye Mk Sir ne yeh job Geet ko di hogi! Geet spoke up, "Maan Sir ne kahaa hai ki main kal se hi job join kar sakti hoon!" Pinky poked Geet into her stomach, "Aaye Haaye! Lagta hai MK Sir tere baghair reh nahi sakte! Isliye tujhe kal hi join karne ko bulaaya hai!" Geet's eyes widened and she looked around worriedly not wanting others to hear what they were speaking. She shushed Pinky and dragged her away to her desk. After chatting for few more minutes, Geet decided to go home after saying bye to Pinky.
