Now, I don't know much about the Miss India /Miss World /Universe competitions (nor am I interested in it) but the pageant has given Bollywood some big names like Juhi, Aishwarya, Priyanka...and the less successful ones like Lara and Sushmita ...and some b-graders like Neha Dhupia, Dia Mirza etc.

But I have noticed that suddenly there seems to be no interest from Bollywood to continue this trend, I cant remember the last time India won any international competitions and I barely recall any directors really flocking over to sign any of these "beauties"

Do you think the moment has passed? Or we'll we be getting more Aishwarya's and Priyanka's in the future? Or is the hype over?

I guess our "generous" Bebo gave way too much work in charity to all the new girls that they are so busy in Bollywood having no time to participate in beauty-peagents.

Did you notice the judges of Miss India? All are B-grade actors from BW. They know the trend that Miss India Matlab, BW ki Rani. So, they deliberately vote the one that has less spark to be a BW heroine.

Standards have fallen in these beauty competitions. Earlier all the best models used to compete. Now modelling itself has been taken over by non-Indians. So hardly anyone good to compete. Plus majority of newbies launched are BW insiders. So who needs Miss India anyway?

Actually, there was a pageant girl whose film did well recently which came out this year (YAARIYAN ... which I absolutely HATED)... But the film performed well surprisingly and she just debut in it which released in January.. Her name is Rakul Preet I believe... But I think recently Bollywood has been busy launching star kids and relatives so beauty pageant queens have taken a back seat because obviously people are more interested in star children who have connections in the industry and also foreigners who don't know Hindi or acting yet they launch these talent-less people... I rather have an Aishwariya or a Priyanka or Sushmita or Juhi any day over the bunch of expresstionless one's we have currently...

I think it's good.
The winners of Ms. World/Ms. Universe are meant to serve the society than join Bollywood right after winning. So I guess even international panel of judges have stopped considering the contestants from India in the Ms. Universe competitions.

but those miss india's are INDIAN girls...bollywood hates Indian girls...instead it's chasing the more white firangi girls.

There was a time when India had just opened it's market to the world (somewhere in early 1990s). All the international companies were trying to get their lion's share in the populous Indian market. That's when most of the Miss Indias started to win the international pageants. This helped those huge international companies to have international but still Indian figures to launch their products in India. That is why there were so many winners all of a sudden ... and then the situation went back to how it was pre-open market (i.e. no one cares about Indian beauties any more).
This is a theory popular in economic circles .. it could be wrong but I guess there is some truth in it.
Now a days, most of the Indian actors are used for launching international products .. there are no great models or anything.
Bollywood gave chances to the well known faces ... and now that trend has slowly slowly declined because the number of known faces have been declining too.
