Amol's friend letting the secret out and saving anmol. He needs applause and amol needs some sympathy along with anandi.

The principal and teacher need some galis as they did not want to delve into amol's impeccable record at school before meting out punishment. Who is going to punish them for being hasty and too strict?

Punishing such young children for copying instead of reprimanding them and allowing them to sit for another test under strict supervision is driving many to depression, suicide and skipping school.

This is why the schools are in news nowadays for wrong reasons. Punishing kids, beating them to death or grievously injuring them.

Agree. That teacher's behavior is very harsh. They didn't bother to check out whether their student whom they see everyday is capable of committing such an act like cheating in the exam🤢😡
In fact teacher should have been surprised that she caught him in that act and should have paused to think how this could have happened.
Even if they mistakenly believed that Amol cheated in the exam thye should have given him another test under strict supervision.
Accusing children of these kind of things can damage their morale and have long standing effects.
That boy who actually did this couldn't contain himself and admitted it because he couldn't cope with the burden of guilt.
Children did come across better than adults in this incident.

Leaves ...it is a socially relevant issue and here the school authorities arranged a meeting between the student and his mother ...and later discussed with his mother ...on this subject !

Unlike the archaic, traditional practice that involves the punishment in school, particularly regarding discipline ...they have to deal with it in a subtle way...must have a knowledge on the Child Psychology.

There is a vast amount of literature on this, for both popular and serious study !!

she addressed the child on the issue and shared a conversation with child and parent on this topic ... but they are not attuned to the real problem...that is presented by a teacher and accompanied by appropriate cues indicating his involvement ...but as you rightly said before pronouncing the punishment..the Principal should have checked all the probabilities !

Though it is a relevant issue in the context of ongoing examination season...here it is dealt in a very amateurish way!

I am glad that they have taken up this issue.
Children being pressurized by parents to perform and the children using wrong methods to rise up to their parents' expectations.

News about teachers dealing with children very harshly are something we do read in the news papers.Wish Anandi had broached on this subject too.Traeting a child harshly without proper investigation.

I think it is done in a more subtle manner but raised the issues about parents unrealistic expectations from their children as well as harshness of the school teachers.

Amol incident personally touched me .i was accused of cheating while in Class 9th when one of my classmate left her book (a map book)inside the desk. She didn't do it purposely though.
i didn't even know tht there was a book inside the desk while writing the exam.the next day i was called by one of the teacher and principal (both nuns) and they grilled me for half an hour. i was shivering and had no proof to prove my innocence. i kept on saying tht the book does not belong to me and i didn't cheat.
wht hurt me even more was, not even once they felt the need to ask the the girl who left the book there by mistake. they just wanted to punish me.
luckily my subject teacher knew me very well, trusted me and supported me. he argued with the other teacher and principal and said he will value my answer sheet. i would have committed suicide, if he wouldn't have supported me that time.

that particular incident made me dislike all the Convent schools and nuns. i know that i am generalising , but the resentment is still there.

Very disturbing incident. I know some school memories are nightmarish.
I can give many examples.
The home work expectations and unrealistic projects where parents have to help. That teaches children to lie that they have done by themselves.
I am seeing more serious kids than happy kids nowadays.

Indian education system is "exam-oriented and stressful"---Our country has a tendency of making everything stressful and complicated...look at the education system...getting admission in schools and colleges...is a challenging task for the parents ...and to achieve that ,parents often pass the buck to their children ...putting them under pressure throughout their studies...resulting in untoward incidents .

First I thought the teacher would make amol say out all the answers he had written without seeing the papers. That would prove him innocent as he would not have any reason to copy when he knew the answers.

stupidity overtook the teacher and the principal and they jumped to conclusions. Then I thought anandi ji would make him tell all the answers...but she didn't 😕 . She got busy in giving lecture to the parents(right in front of their child,I suppose?). She had always been good in lecturing parents in front of their kids...so I guess she did the same thing in this case too .

That said, the issue (about parents pushing their kids too hard to get good numbers) the directors wanted to focus on was good. It's just that it was shown through a stupid example.

The problem is not anandi and her lectures. the problem is teachers's attitude. How can anandi ask amol to blurt out answers? He is in a disturbed mind and might have made mistakes. Anandi lecturing in front of the kids. Why not? The kids also should know how they are being pressurised by demanding parents.

^

Anandi had to use her brain and make amol say out the answers without looking at the answer sheet because there is no other way out. He would have lost 1 year in his academics if his friend hadn't told the truth. she had to at last try this out without thinking that he's in some disturbed mood and all..

As for giving lectures in front of kids. That's subjective. she did the same with nandu _ gehna once . Anyway that's my opinion.
