It was a normal day in farooqui mansion in Bhopal. All the family members were getting ready in the morning. This was the house of gaffour farooqui IAS who passed away 5 yrs back. His wife zainab farooqui a lawyer by profession stays here now with there 2 children. Haider farooqui 23 yr gentle man who works as a business analyst in a MNC after completing MBA. Zoya farooqui there youngest daughter who had passed BA in journalism this year is running an NGO named Awaken for women's education. She is also a freelance journalist for financial support to run the NGO. It took almost 6 months after her final exams to establish the NGO. She had appointed only 2 young women for the help in NGO. She visits all the streets & lanes & convince people the importance of education. She takes classes for poor women who is not able to get basic education to read & write. She teaches them to read & write. Through the past 6 months she had came to know that how these poor people who doesn't even know to read & write are utilised by the high class people in the society for there own benefits. She had brought it as sensational news in papers through the articles. Zainab is against zoya's NGO & freelance journalism. After gaffour's unexpected death she is scared about social service. Gafoour's death was a brutal murder. Being an IAS officer he was a man of true principles. He fought for justice. He had reported against a land mafia who tried to vacate a slum area forcefully for establishing a factory. He was warned by them but gaffour didn't care & he went ahead with his procedures. One day when he was on the way back to home he was stabbed to death. He passed away before he was able to be hospitalised. It had been 5 yrs after that fearful incident. Zoya was studying tenth & haider was doing 12 th at that time. After that zainab had been very protective of zoya & haider. After 12 th haider selected management field much to zainab's relief. But after 2 yrs when zoya passed her plus two she opted to do journalism along with social works as her minor. This made zainab restless. She opposed zoya her level best but haider supported his sister. Finally zainab had to surrender. During her final yr BA exams she had planned to start an NGO for women's education. Zainab warned zoya. But zoya went a head with haider's support. Not only haider but also zoya's mausi zeenat & her husband anwar quadri supported zoya. After gaffour's death zeenat & anwar along with there only daughter Humeira quadri shifted to FM to support zainab. Anwar is working as a company secretory & zeenat is a veterinary docter. Humeira is doing her 1 st year in Bhopal college of arts & science in bsc computer science. Anwar had helped zoya to select a small building for rent to run her NGO & he was with her for getting the sanction from the government to run NGO.
Zainab knows zoya is gaffour's carbon copy. She will not shut her mouth if she finds some one is not getting justice. She wants her to get married ASAP. After all she is turning 21 yrs of age in this year. She is scared for her zoya who is always after her NGO. And on top of that she is also a freelance journalist.
Dining table
Every one gathered there to have breakfast. Zoya too joined them. She was wearing a black colour short kurthi & blue jeans.
Haider: good morning chutki
Zoya: good morning bhaijaan.
Anwar: see chutki your sensational news in the paper.
Zainab: ( shocked) iss bar kya hai anwar.
Anwar: API zoya had reported about a case in few poor streets where illiterate women thumb sign has been misused. The ration shop owners took the advantage of there illiteracy & got thumb sign in legal papers saying that it is the application for getting ration card. Instead it was the papers saying that the have got there ration card. There free ration had been sold by the shop owners in market & got more money as profit.
( this kind of incidents actually happens in our country)
Zeenat: Allah Miya! These people should been hanged to death who steels poor people food & sell it for profit.
Zainab: ya Allah! God alone knows what new problems arise now. May be these will be a mafia.
Haider: ammi you should be proud of our chutki who fought against for poor people who had been denied there free ration. Ammi after all you are lawyer.
Zainab: along with being a lawyer I am her ammi also. I will definitely be worried for her.
Zoya: ammi for gods sake I am not a kid any more. I can take care of myself. I am happy by running this NGO. If I find any injustice anywhere I will use my power as a freelance journalist. After all I am gaffour farooqui IAS daughter. My abbu is my hero. He had taught me that cowards die in every second but true warriors will die only once. I am not a coward.
Every one was silent. These is usual in past 6 months when zoya had planned to start her NGO. Humeira thought to lighten the situation.
Humeira: API please come early today evening. We can go for a first show.
Zoya: sorry beta I will be really late today. I have started a computer class for young girls who had to stop there studied at 10 th & after 12 th due to poverty. Every thing is computerised now a days. If I could help them in handling computer they will be able to get better jobs. Also few women had requested me to care of there children who is good at studies. I am helping them for entrance exams & public board exams. Moreover I have to go for field visit for creating awareness about dengue epidemics. I will be really late today. You go with haider bhaijaan.
Zainab: how many times I have told you chutki you should be at home by 6.
Haider: ammi please she has her Scotty. Even if it's late I am here na I will go & pick her up. Her job is not restricted to office timings.
Zainab: I am not saying any thing god alone knows where all this will lead to. It seems like your chutki is going for freedom struggle.
Zoya: ammi fighting for livelihood is also a freedom struggle.
Zainab shook her head & left. After breakfast everyone started moving. After dropping zainab in court haider goes to the company in his car. Zainab is a family councillor. Anwar goes in his car after dropping zeenat in govt hospital. Zoya drops humiera in her Scotty to her college & goes for her NGO.
Night FM
Haider & Humeira had cancelled there movie program as zoya won't be there with them. It had been almost 9. Zainab was really tensed. Even tough haider pacified his ammi he was also getting scared. Zoya's NGO is near to chawk bazaar, a local market. He had tried her phone. But it's saying as not reachable. Zoya did mention she will be late but bad thoughts are haunting zainab. Finally haider took his car key to go out to check zoya. But he saw zoya entering the gate.
It had been a hectic day for zoya. She had classes for illiterate women from morning to noon time. After school time few young girls who needed support for there studies had come to get help from zoya for there board exams & entrance exams. After 5 she had started computer classes for girls who had to stop there school in between due to poverty. After 6 she had gone to lanes & slum areas for awareness classes about spreading awareness. Only after 6 these People will return from there work.
After seeing zoya safe haider went & hugged her. Zainab was fuming with anger.
Zainab: can't you call us & inform when you are late?
Zoya: ammi I did mention in the morning that I"ll be late. I tried to call you people when I was getting late but I was in outskirts I didn't have tower in my phone.
Haider: ammi please chutki came back safely. She had a hectic day. Andar jao beta aaram karo.
Zainab went inside to meet anwar & zeenat.
Zainab: anwar zeenat ASAP I want to conduct zoya's nikkah.
Zeenat: API chutki is a small girl. After all she is going to be only 21 next week.
Zainab: no zeenat I can't wait more. Zoya's ways could be only maintained through nikkah.
Anwar: API I think we should speak with zoya once. Now a days we can't predict youngsters. What if she has someone in her mind?
Zainab: if she had someone in her mind defiantly she would have told to haider. I don't think so she is in love with someone. If we ask her opinion she will skip. We will select few boys with there photos & other details. Let her select from that.
Next day evening in FM
Since zainab got scared yesterday zoya returned to FM before 8. She covered her field work fast & managed to return before 8 so that zainab won't have to worry unnecessary. She went to her room & took bath. After bath when she came out she was surprised to find out her ammi in her room.
Zoya: ji ammi
Zainab: kya tum muchsey naras ho beta?
Zoya: ammi why are you saying like this. I know you fight with me only because you love me & care for me. After abbu's death you have been really worried about our safety.
Zainab: beta you have completed your studies I want you to get married ASAP.
Zoya: ammi don't you think it's too early for me to get married? After all I am going to be only 21.
Zainab: beta I have to fulfil my responsibilities as a mother. See this photo. This guy is an engineer working in railways.
Zoya took the photo from her.
Zoya: ammi just see him. If I marry him people will say we are father & daughter. He looks too aged.
Zainab: koi Baath nahi beta ye ladke ko dekho.
Zoya: ammi he looks too dark.
Zainab: ok see this guy he is fair & handsome. His name is Munir.
Zoya: ammi kitna old fashion naam hai.
Zainab: zoya one guy is not handsome, one is dark one person's name is not nice. Actually what's your real problem.
Zoya: ammi I can't marry any guys randomly. I mean I don't even know them.
Zainab: ok fine then.
Zainab left her knew. Zoya knew she had merely escaped. But tomorrow she will bring some of the relatives for alliance. She thought of asking haider's help. Zoya never hides any thing from haider. Even haider shares everything with zoya. They are mostly like friends than siblings. She went to haider's room. She explained him the matter.
Haider: chutki I am pretty sure ammi will come up with few alliances from our relatives or family friends. Actually why are you so against nikkah?
Zoya: bhaijaan I am not against nikkah. Even I have dreams to fall in love & get married. I want my partner to know me. I want him to help me in aspiring my dreams. I could have easily wrote entrance & joined engineering or medicine. But I selected this field only to help the people who are in need. I have seen the real life & I have helped people for getting justice. You have no idea about The happiness I get when an illiterate housemaid learns to write & read one word in Hindi. It seems like I am a person who are helping a group of people from darkness to a path full of lights. Bhaijaan Awaken is not an NGO for me. It's my life. I want a man who realise that & supports me in all his possible ways.
Haider: teek hai chutki. I"ll think of some solution.
Zoya: bhaijaan please don't come up with some ideas which hurt ammi. I can't see her in more pain.
Haider: don't worry chutki I"ll think of something in which both of you will be happy.
Next day morning in FM - zoya's bed room.
Zoya was getting ready after bath. She was wearing a red colour short kurthi & black stretch jeans. As expected zainab came to her room with an alliance.
Zainab: zoya see this guy.
Zoya took the photo from her.
Zoya: yeh toh Ayaan hai na!
Ayaan & zoya had studied together in Bhopal university. Ayaan had taken up finance & accounting. Since he is a good singer & a guitarist he was selected as the arts club secretory. Zoya was good in writing. So she was the magazine editor. So they knew each other in college even tough they have selected different groups. Moreover ayaan's ammi dilshad Ahmed khan & his abbu rashid Ahmed khan had studied along with zainab in college 30 yrs ago. After completing degree zainab had taken law so they were not in touch. During her 2 nd year of law she had met gaffour who was trying for IAS while working as a teacher in high school. They both fall in love & got married.
Dilshad & rashid had fallen in love during college days. After completing there graduation dilshad & rashid got married. Rashid had started dilshad constructions 27 yrs back in a very small scale. Through his hard work he had brought dilshad constructions to the toppest construction firm in Madhya Pradesh.
Gaffour's death had been sensational. Through that rashid & dilshad came to know about zainab. They contacted her. Since zainab is a famous lawyer they made her as there legal adviser. Dilshad used to visit FM along with her youngest daughter najma Ahmed khan. She is also studying in same college where Humeira studies. She is doing her 1 st year in bsc interior designing. Zoya knew dilshad & najma very well.
Through college day events zoya knew ayaan also very well.
Zoya: ammi if me & Ayaan gets married the entire house gets broken in one day.
Zainab: zoya I want to know what's going on your mind?
Haider entered there.
Haider: ammi even if you bring Salman khan's proposal she won't agree.
Zainab: kyun?
Haider: because she is in love.
Both zainab & zoya got shocked.
Zainab: yeh kya tamasha hai haider?
Haider: ammi you know that chutki won't hide anything from me. We have hidden it from you only because that you won't believe.
Zainab: agar yeh Sach hai toh khushi ki Baath hai.
Haider: Sach hai ammi. It had been for almost one year. She had gone for picnic from college last year to Mumbai. There she met this guy. He is a marine engineer.
Zainab: zoya tum inta parishan kyun ho beta. It's really a wonderfull news. If you love someone then what's the problem? I am really happy. Even me & abbu had love marriage.
Zoya: ji ammi.
Zainab: uss ladke ka naam kya hai chutki?
Both haider & zoya got tensed.
Haider: oh ammi uska naam hai aa. Asad! Asad naam hai uska.
Zainab: acha naam hai. Can we talk to him through phone beta.
Haider: ammi he had gone to duty. He will come after only 6 months. In the middle of sea you can't contact him na. Don't worry he had promised that when he returns he will come with his parents to meet us.
Zainab was really happy & she left the room.
Zoya closed the room & attacked haider.
Zoya: yeh kya hai bhaijaan. Who is this asad whom I had fall in love for past one year?
Haider: chutki Sach kaho tho mujehy bhi nahi pata yeh asad koan hai.
Zoya: do you even know how much happy ammi is? Do you know what will be the consequences if she comes to know about the truth?
Haider: how will she comes to know chutki. We both won't say truth to her. For 6 months she won't disturb you.
Zoya: after that?
Haider: after that your so called boyfriend met with an accident & passed away. You will be sad because of that. For next one year you will trying to come out from that misery. So totally for next 1 1/2 years you are in a safe zone.
Zoya felt all this as a big trouble. But zainab was really happy believing haider. She didn't bring any other proposal for zoya after that. Zainab did ask asad's few personal details. But haider saved zoya from all that. Zoya was busy with her work.
One week later. 07/11/13
It's zoya's 21st b'day. Zainab has warned everyone not to wish her early morning as she wants to give her a surprise b'day party. After gaffour's death they never celebrated zoya's or haider's b'day. So it was a usual day for zoya. As usual she went to her NGO. She had completely forgotten it's her b'day.
As usual it was a hectic day for zoya. She returned to FM around 8.It was unusually dark & the front door has been opened. This made her worried.
Zoya: ammi, bhaijaan, mausi! Where are these people.
All of a sudden she heard every one shouting: surprise!
The lights got switched on. The hall has been beautifully decorated with blue, white & pink balloons. There has been a banner " happy b'day zoya"
Zoya smiled when she saw her entire family wishing her & singing happy b'day. She went & hugged her ammi.
Zoya: ammi Aaj nov 7 th hai na I forgot it is my b'day. How stupid of me.
Anwar: it's ok beta. Why have been so late?
Zoya: I got a sensational news mausa ji! I went to press to handover the article. Since I was on time news will be in front paper itself.
Haider noticed zainab's face changing due to tension.
Haider: chutki leave all that. I have got a new dress for you. Just go & freshen up. We will cut cake.
Zoya: ji bhaijaan.
She took her sling bag & iPad & went to her bedroom. Because of her iPad she is able to write articles & take photos for the newspapers. She found a beautiful white & red ghagra in her bed. It's simple without any heavy works but elegant. After taking bath. She wore it. Zainab came & caressed her face.
Zainab: you look so pretty zoya.
She gave her a big golden Jumka with white stones.
Zainab: this is your b'day gift.
Zoya: ammi this is not fair. From my 13 th b'day you are giving me only gold ornaments.
Zainab smiled. She took zoya along with her to hall. They cut cake & everyone gave her b'day gifts.
Zainab: there is a big surprise for you.
Zoya: kya hai ammi ?
Zainab: there is no need to wait for 6 months. Due to bad weather conditions asad's trip got cancelled. He had came here yesterday. It's his idea to celebrate your b'day & surprise you.
No doubt both haider & zoya had got the shock of there life.
Zainab: asad beta idar aao.
Zoya saw a tall handsome man with dark brown eyes coming near her.
Asad: happy b'day zoya! So how was my suprise?
Zoya was too numb to react.
