You must have gone to watch a movie and sat comfortably in your chair to enjoy the movie but as soon as the movie starts the person sitting behind you keeps his/her legs on the bar below your chair or just touches the chair you are sitting on with his/her knee and begins to shake his/her legs...

How many times has this happen to you?

Cannot the person doing such thing understand that they are disturbing the other.

After telling to stop it then also some people continue, what would be your action in such a case?

Do you feel just like other places there should be an etiquette followed in movie halls also so as to not disturb others watching the movie along with you?

Reminds of Rangeela movie. Recalling such incidents makes me 😆😆 Why only movie threater, there are plenty of other places we find such incidents - standing in queue, on local train, bus etc

Movie threater incidents, Not exactly this but there are others - chewing gum on the seat, Water on the seat, baby at the back seat pulling hairs, once watching hum saath hai or Saajan..I guess - was sitting front row in dress circle... as soon as famous song came, people started throwing change (chillars) from behind - half of it landed on heads of people sitting in front row and stall - yes it was reputed cinema hall😆😆 ...

Cannot the person doing such thing understand that they are disturbing the other.

Apun ney ticket kharida hai... or they will say ok ok.. then again do it.

Are known as Dheeds.

Yes! but at the sametime there are people from different walks of life sharing the public space, too much to ask for, I guess. Just ignore and enjoy the movie, khali fokat tension nahi leneka😊.

on a funny note : How about enforcing invisible flying bees, mods with electric baton in movie threaters and giving a slight shock. in the tickling bones of people, who are offending or keeping leg on the arm rest😆😆.

😳 😳 For a long limbed person trying to fit into a narrow seat of a small cinema hall in Mumbai, it is often a fight and the only relief one gets is to sit with one leg on the knee. In doing so, it does occassionally hit the back of the seat in front of me, But try as much as I can, it is difficult not to fidget for a whole three hour 😭

But on the chewing gum on seat or water on the seat, its just bad manners 😳 😳 But is whispering in the cinema halls, or passing comments/ laughing bad manners 😳 😳 I hope not, else I might have to stop frequenting cinema halls 😆 😆 😆

Thank God for multiplexes in Mumbai which give you some room to breathe.

I can understand the feeling! Sometimes I return from a movie with stiff knees from trying not to move. I once went to watch a movie in Manchester and the hall was practically empty, so I put my feet up between the two seats in front of me, happy that I had leg room 😃 .10 minutes into the movie, two women came in and of all the empty seats in the theatre, chose to sit in those two. I quickly got one foot off, but the second one got stuck because of my shoe, so there I was struggling to get it out before those two women noticed and ticked me off for my lack of etiquette. Finally, I just left the shoe there, pulled my foot out, and waited for the movie to end and everyone to leave before retrieving my shoe!

It depends on how loudly it's being done and if it is affecting the people around you. Once there was this uncleji sitting behind us who insisted on singing aloud every single song in the most besura voice. After the first two, I had to tell him to shut up because we hadn't come to listen to him. In another incident, a couple came and sat next to us and started having an argument about some family matter. Needless to stay, yours truly had to say shut up once again! 😳 Passing comments is part of the fun of watching a movie, but not beyond a certain point! I don't want to listen to whose husband is in japan and how he gets annoyed when she calls him in the middle of the night

@ priya and serialbuff: hmmm... long limbed person difficulties.. never cross my mind cos well... I am short.... 😛 something to think about regarding what you wrote.... 😊

But seriously.. when watching a movie when continously someone is shaking your chair then one is not able to concentrate on the movie and it gets annoying after awhile if it persists. 😳

Raj, you mean like flying viewbie? 😉 and mods? and can some coolbies give updates instead of viewers having to go through painful dialogues , the kind delivered by ice maidens who can't act / express😛..
That should be awesome..

Sweta, yeah, people can be irritating.
In India, what upset me the most was guys trying to touch by sliding their elbow from the side 🤢. ewwww how I hated those days 😭
In India, someone recently told me that not only cell phone rings but people hold a conversation on phone right inside the theater while movie is going on. When I was there, children used to cry a lot and that bothered me.

Here, in crowded threaters, I have almost always seen people behaving well. Never had to complain except perhaps once when little kids were involved and the family happened to be desi .

In places in smaller cites, the cinema halls used to be almost empty 😆😆and there is so much space that i have comfortably kept my feet on the chair in front of me w/o interfering with anybody's movie-fun.
nice topic sweta! 👏

Cannot the person doing such thing understand that they are disturbing the other. Why is it disturbing.. come on... you didnt even pay for it.. and you are getting simulated rides...😆

After telling to stop it then also some people continue, what would be your action in such a case? Slap the person or call the manager and have him ejected...😆

Do you feel just like other places there should be an etiquette followed in movie halls also so as to not disturb others watching the movie along with you?..Come on yaar life is made of such stupid things and its fun to have such creatures.. around ....😆😆.. Another thing I do is when the scene is too serious and almost everybody on the screen is crying.. I just make a large slurping sound on my coke.... and everybody starts laughing...when I say come on guys I am choking with emotions...😆

the best part is when we leave the theater after a kick-ass suspense movie just say out aloud and the villain is .. .people just get frustrated...close their ears try to ignore...😆😆
