Taboo Storylines......?

Hey there everyone. I am a viewer in the uk and they also show alot of soaps too such as Eastenders and Coronation St. etc.... Anyway i was thinking isnt it about time Hindi serials started tackling subjects that are taboo in India? Such as Homosexuality and Domestic Violence?????

Rape was a taboo subject and so was mercy killing but Ekta managed to portray it in Kyunki....... I think needs to broaden itself and not hide away and shun such subjects. I saw last week on the news what outrage was caused when Richard Gere kissed Shilpa Shetty.

What do you guys think?

i think its a good idea, domestic violence i think has been shown but it would be a good storyline for ekta's shows.

as for homosexuality, it is always portrayed very stereotypically (bobby darling) i think if efforts were had to portray it as normal it would lead to problems, i guarantee ppl like the shiv sena would go nuts and endangers the actors and the writers.

there was a movie that dealt with homosexuality in a fair way, itd called "my brother nikhil"
