The single uniting factor being their love for retail therapy. Both of them simply love to splurge. Last year both hit the beach trail in Goa. A while back, they took off on a shopping expedition to Bangkok, Phuket and Singapore.
"There was only one agenda while planning this trip – to shop along with doing all the usual touristy things," says Mreenal. "Aamna planned the entire trip. She did the airline and hotel bookings. I just went along for the ride!"
The actresses stayed at the Amari Hotel in Phuket and Bangkok, and at the Swissotel — The Stamford in Singapore. The duo spent two weeks at their destinations.
Splurging spree
"We spent a week in Singapore and the rest at Bangkok and Phuket. The entire time, we were hitting the various malls. We did visit tourist spots like Sentosa Island in Singapore and the beaches in Phuket, but it was the malls that held our attention. That's what we did from morning to night. And we really dressed up to the hilt; the locals couldn't believe that we were Indians! In Singapore, Aamna met her share of Indian fans too," says Mreenal.
They shopped for branded bags, clothes, shoes and accessories. "Don't ask me how much we spent. I don't want to even think about it. I guess I spent everything I've earned," says Mreenal, in mock horror. "Aamna loves dressing up so she, too, shopped till she dropped," says Mreenal, who was earlier seen in soaps like Kabhie Aaye Na Judaai, Pancham, Ek Ladki Anjaani Si.
The only hitch that the girls encountered on the trip was the food. "I'm a strict vegetarian; so it was a problem for me as the veg food tasted like non-veg fare! And though Aamna is non-veg, there is that particular smell that comes from the food that put her off. So throughout the trip we lived on bread, juices and fruits."
But that was no big deal, when there was so much to splurge on, right?
