Sareg ji is referring to Abhijiit ji, the poster on the 1st page of this post, as doctor...

I have trouble with the TITLE.
"what is being americanized?"
Some Europeans have even bigger burgers while several americans particularly in a biotech / health-related occupation is FAR MORE AWARE of and against junk food that several Indians gobbling down sweets on every festival and celebration occasion and lot of fried stuff on a regular basis.
I think it is HIP to blame fastfood.
I don;t like it / recommend it, but I don;t condemn it while gobbling down jalebis, rasmalai, malpua and what not... When I condemn, i condemn both and rasmalai, gajar halwa and khoa burfee is not american..

I once again will say that following anyone blindly is a bad idea, whether it be americanized / asian way of life.

Pick the best and hence I believe in repeated adaptation and grasping better of both the worlds 😃

you said it, pick the best exact thoughts, different people have different tastes for picking the best, like some love fast food while some dont, off topic, there was a two full page article on how indian sweets are affecting the health of people in india in a newspaper many months ago

Thnx raunaq.
You are right. High cholesterol and messed up lipid profiles are serious issues in some parts. One doesn't have to look big in order to be unhealthy!
Unfortunately, once we wear the judgmental goggles to see what others are doing wrong, where is the time left to look at ourselves? Everyone in the world is guilty of that in some way or the other.😆
Also, with more comfortable life style, these health issues are bound to get aggrevated.

With the rising to position of "superpower" of world, the global reach of US has become beyond doubt. Not only India, if you look other countries, from global politics, trade, local entertainment, fashion, cuisine, the mark of United States is Perceptible. But as globalization has helped spread or made American way of life so popular, specially the eating habits, lifestyle, values and culture does question of "cultural imperialism" occur to your mind? The way we see "the American way" across the globe?

I was just wondering is American way of life the right model towards which rest of the countries and culture of world is moving? Communication has increased that evolution of cultures between the world is kind of getting uniform. So do you think it is harmful the way world is accepting the American way (its cuisine, culture, style, fashion, politics)? Should this standard way of life be embraced? Or rejected as it is harmful?

American situation reminds me of the 'emporer's new clothes"... Their absurd life-style is blindly emulated without using any sense... America hasnt given anything to the world which makes a lot of sense in terms of food, fashion, life-style. Everything seems to be like living on the edge scenario... Meaningless food choices screwing up the health, bohemian life-style and dressing style...

So its good to evaluate everything they propose before accepting it. In india its easier.. since we have cultural resistance acting to our favor... so we havent become a south korea of japan....Good for us...
