Rajshri Prod. ventures into suspense thrillers from family dramas

Rajshri Productions has ventured into an uncharted territory with Samrat & Co, a suspense-adventure thriller, directed by Kaushik Ghatak, and starring Rajeev Khandelwal as a private investigator.

Producer Kavita Barjatya's maiden venture will feature an ensemble cast, but the characters are all grey. However, effort has gone into making Rajeev's character Samrat lovable with qualities like intelligence, sharpness and eccentricity.

Says the actor, "It took a single narration for me to say yes. The narrative, characters, dialogues, action, special effects and even music of this film, are all appealing. I am sure the audience will love this roller-coaster ride, which is very 'dilchasp' from the word go!"

Adds Kavita, "This subject is unconventional compared to the films we made earlier. The grey characters were the requirement of the story. Every character has some hidden agenda."

Says Kaushik, "The characters are not good or bad, they are humans. The important thing is which side of their personality is seen more prominently. In the movie there are multiple criminals committing different crimes."

Samrat & Co, produced by Kavita Barjatya for Rajshri Productions, releases April 25.
