Very good topic, Raj! A belated Congrats on your new status here in DM as well!! 😳

I have noticed that generally people that grow up in relatively unhygenic places tend to have a better immune system compared to those that don't. However, not just growing up in a hygene environment makes your immune system weaker, but living there for 2-3 years is enough to get you many allergies. LOL, well basically I have this friend who lived all her life in India, like me...and came here after grade 10, compared to me who came 2 years later. In India she never had any allergies...and here she has at least 4-5. It seems very strange though, coz I would expect her to have no allergies compared to those living here all their lives...so I am not sure if she is an exception to my theory, orrr it depends on each person's immune system and you can't generalize it. 😕

Immune system protects you against diseases....Indian upbringing gives us an immunity against certain water born diseases.....and allergies related to dust....but not against pollen and other allergies.

Allergies are related to upper respiratory tract irritation due to pollen, certain purfumes, grass weed, dust etc. Allergy and disesases are two different things. I may be wrong, but there is no treatment for allergies. You can only supress them by certain drugs and sprays.

And so, without involving other cells and calling the whole gang (inflammation/ immune response) these smart cells can easily get rid of them withough making you sick.. They also have memory 😳 to recognize these forever-invading pathogens. Aren't they cool? 😃..


The Aquafina boy's cells will on the other hand go

I am happy I don't have any significant allergy .. I have some allergy probably related to air pollution ... always develop stuffy nose after driving back home .. but it is all gone since I m here ...
