I'm sorry if someone else has made this topic before but I'm like really confused... are Aliya and Zain cousins?! I recently started watching this show and (recently... as in a few minutes ago) looked it up online and apparently they're both cousins???

I was really starting to like this show, but as a person who morally opposes cousins having a relationship and KNOWS its biologically harmful (expecially for their children , if they have any)I'm kind of in awe and grossed out. Can someone explain this situation, I haven't caught up on the episodes and just read the summary on wiki. Please Help!!!

Yes... they are cousins!

In Islam, you are allowed to get married to first cousins (as far as I know)

I myself, am kinda grossed out at the fact as well because I am Punjabi and have been taught that it is wrong since birth. But since it is a show and it does happen, I kinda stopped paying attention to the fact that they were related.
