and I am trained in theatre. But I definitely think heightism takes place in the entertainment world and there must be a criteria for height, for example all the miss indias are now bollywood stars and miss India minimum height is 5'6 so it is heightism,in a way.

shortest I know is 5'1 Maahi, who has done only 2 shows and let's face it, with her looks and talent,if she was 5'6 or 5'7, She would be getting 50 shows.

I don't think it matters much about height, that's something any camera and technology can fix up.. look at Shah Rukh, he's very short compared to the average guy and is so much more shorter than lead actresses in Bollywood these days who come from the modeling industry (Deepika, etc) yet the camera still makes his height look comparable to them. It's just about talent and looks mostly.

the earlier lead Giaa Manek was 5'2

Adaa Khan,seen in many tv shows is 5'2

Surbhi jyoti of qubool hai is 5'4

I Think the standard minimum height is 5'2. Wish I was 5 inches taller.

Sorry I mislead you! Actually I had this conception that they prefer this much height. But I surfed through net and the least height is 5"1/2 inches in Pakistani industry and they are successful. Actually I watched a show for talent hunt type and the were rejecting bcz of height only!!!

I really don't know about actresses height and stuff but if you want to become an actress, you shouldn't let something like height to stop you from doing it
