Any idea what is the minimum height criteria for TV ?

Hi all I Just wanted to know if you guys hv any idea of the minimum height criteria for female actors.

The shortest TV actress I know is Maahi Vij at 5'1.

Do you think 4'9 is acceptable?

Ii think it is acceptable bcz its about talent and good face and camera-genic face. But 4"9 is too short. They mostly go for 5"6 onwards!!

Hi,5'6 is not true, 5'6 is the minimum for modelling/ramp not acting

I Know 4'9 is too short but tv actors are not ''tall'' either,

Debina Banerjee,lead of Saath Nibhana Saathiya is 5'3

the earlier lead Giaa Manek was 5'2

Adaa Khan,seen in many tv shows is 5'2

Surbhi jyoti of qubool hai is 5'4

I Think the standard minimum height is 5'2. Wish I was 5 inches taller.

Don't let height stop your ambition to become an actor. There is always a preferred criteria but it is not written in stone. If you have passion for acting and decent talent, you should take your chances and someone may look beyond your height and appreciate your talent and you may get shot at your heart desired career. Don't give up without trying.

Ketki who plays Humaira is not that tall but she is a 2nd lead and like you mentioned, there are few other actors who are at lower end of height spectrum and still getting lead chances.

If one have confidence in their talent and believe in their passion, they will be able to turn things around and achieve success against all odds.

Digangana is 5'5, So glad to know others are shorter :D

Surbhi is 5'6 and I don't see the problem if you're short. Once you're pretty and have some talent it should be good. Good luck ! x

hi dear Surbhi is not 5'6 as I along with my guy friend have met her in Powai area (Mumbai) my guy friend is short (5'6) and she definitely was a bit shorter than him. But now I searched and saw 5'6 so I think actors add 2 inch extra to their original height.

coming to my question, People say I look really pretty and it's actually them who say I should act on TV

and I am trained in theatre. But I definitely think heightism takes place in the entertainment world and there must be a criteria for height, for example all the miss indias are now bollywood stars and miss India minimum height is 5'6 so it is heightism,in a way.

shortest I know is 5'1 Maahi, who has done only 2 shows and let's face it, with her looks and talent,if she was 5'6 or 5'7, She would be getting 50 shows.
