He says, "After my first album was released, I cut three more albums. I was busy doing stage shows in India and abroad. And in the midst of all this I was trying to put together a solo album which is due for release in June. I have certainly not vanquished!"
So what is it behind his deliberate low profile? He says, "I learnt it the hard way after bearing the brunt of negative publicity for my alleged romantic affairs and the fracas related to my house" says Abhijeet wistfully, albeit adding on a cheerful note, "but all that has settled down. I have recently shifted to our new house at Vile Parle."
Talking about his newly acquired image, Abhijeet candidly adds, "I think it is important to maintain the style to ensure the continuity of my image though it does get boring at times to wear full-sleeved shirts and keep the hairstyle short, as advised by the image-consultants. But, I'm trying to cope with the demands.
The Sawant household may be in for more happy tidings if things go as per Abhijeet's plans. "I'm looking at getting married by the end of the year. I am looking at prospective matches. I would like my wife to be a homely girl who will gel with my family and not get carried away by the adulation," says Abhijeet as he signs off.
