ohk i m sorry. I wanted to post it on Writer's Corner But couldn't find it. it is not related to the Maneet. just one os. because i wanted to write something today.
Warning:- I m a very bad writer.

THE MOMENT

Time Line:- Feb 1932.

Place- Bengal.

The convocation was going on. The moment will be coming soon. Yes the moment.

She remember those days. 1914- first world war was going on. The revolutionary activities were on peak because the youngsters wanted to take advantage of this war. But they had forgotten that the police was not fighting the war and also that police has been given powers to do anything without permission- killing, arrest, kidnap anything. But still the young blood wanted to do something. They had started collecting arms. They were also in contact with revolutionaries from other parts of India. Then it happened - the crackdown. The police had got information from some insider. Some one betrayed the revolutionaries badly. The police burnt many villages to track down all rebels. Her house was also one. Her husband died while escaping from police.

This was a deciding moment. She met Surya Sen- her Surya Dada. She has one daughter. She had taken the oath to fight for her country, for the freedom they all wanted. In 1920 when Gandhiji started his movement, she participated with all her energy. They all did but were highly disappointed when Gandhiji took decision of stopping the movement.

After that, Surya da started revolutionary group. She was made the head of women group, where she had to train girls and women alike. They were trained physically as well as mentally. Making girls and women revolutionaries was very big deal. These girls were the same like other Indian girls who are told to learn cook and clean at the age when they were able to carry their plate. The Indian girls who were to be kept in purdaah who were thought to be not more than a heir producing and household handling machine. The psychological training was the most important part because they were needed to be freed from all these notions that they were weak.

The yearly trend of Durga Puja helped to some extent. Because of its main theme that a woman killed the demon to save the world not the man. It was the first thing which she taught to those young girls that the women can because they have done it.

The physical part was taken care of by Surya da. Another factor which helped girls that Surya Da never treated the girls differently from the men or boys. They were scolded equally , the work was distributed equally. The equality helped.

Just two months back, Shanti and Suniti shot that Evil and cruel District magistrate. The girls were caught and tried. They received death sentence. Saheedo me unka bhi naam judega.

Now the moment has come. The moment for which she has waited for years since the crackdown.

Convocation is going on. It was turn of Bina. BINA DAS- HER DAUGHTER. The moment came. And it became a part of Indian History.

************************************************************

Next Day : News paper Headlines-

BINA DAS- A COLLEGE STUDENT FIRED POINT BLANK AT THE GOVERNOR WHILE RECEIVING HER DEGREE AT THE CONVOCATION.

NOTE:- NO REVOLUTION IS COMPLETE WITHOUT WOMEN. WOMEN HAVE ALWAYS PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT PART IN EVERY REVOLUTION. BE IT RUSSIAN REVOLUTION- 8TH MARCH 1917 OR INDIAN FREEDOM STRUGGLE.

I SALUTE THOSE WOMEN WHO FAUGHT SHOULDER TO SHOULDER AND MADE DIFFERENCE.

There are many names in Indian History. Be it Prilata Waddedar or Kalpana Dutt, Shanti Ghosh or Suniti Chandheri or Bina Das. Women have done everything men have done. We are proud progeny of these mortals who became immortal due their courage.

If we have missile man- APJ Abdul Kalam then we also have missile woman- Tessy Thomas.

If we have Iron man- Sardar Patel we also have Iron Lady- Indira Gandhi.

IF WE HAVE A Mangal Pandey we also have a Jhansi ki Rani

Proud to be a Grand-Daughter, a daughter, a sister and more Importantly a Girl.

HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY TO ALL GORGEOUS, BRAVE, COURAGIOUS, LOVELY, BEAUTIFUL, SMART, INTELLIGENT CREATIONS OF THE GOD.

It is not rubbish. Perhaps writing it as her POV would have had more impact followed by the feelings you have on this topic.
I agree with you that such stories matter a lot; which is why I put in the part of Humayun's tomb in the Locket. They teach us to learn from such strong ladies how to conduct ourselves.

i had written another story for women's day about a girl heading for divorce. but well i deleted it few days back. so i wrote this in the morning.
