I am not an alcoholic: Aditya

He has essayed the role of an alcoholic in his last two films Aashiqui 2 and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani but the success of both the films seems to have had an adverse effect on Aditya Roy Kapoor's image. The actor was overheard talking to a filmmaker about being perceived as an "alcoholic". It seems Aditya is not happy about the fact that he continues to get offers for similar roles. Perhaps that's why he is trying really hard to shed this screen image.
We hear that the actor has strictly instructed his managers not to consider any role that portrays him as an alcoholic. Setting the records straight, Aditya says, "I'm not an alcoholic." He adds, with a laugh, "Occasionally, I do enjoy a couple of drinks but I have never been an alcoholic."
Aditya is also a little upset that his film Fitoor got shelved. According to close sources, Aditya was majorly banking on the film and his pairing with Katrina Kaif. It would have given him a new image, a new setup and a bigger co-star. But his dreams came crashing down when director Abhishek Kapoor decided to can the film. So Aditya is now looking out for projects that will portray him in a more sober avatar.
