Priyanka Bassi had been chilling at home for a few days ever since her show SAB's Left Right Left took a break for the World Cup. But now that the World Cup's coming to an end, the actress and her co-stars have resumed shooting for the show which will be back on air soon. So did she miss shooting for it all these days? "Not at all!" she laughs, "I knew shooting would start soon and I was too busy relaxing to think about it."
Priyanka, who started her acting career with Bombay Talking, reveals that initially, she wasn't too keen on taking up Left..., which required her to do stunts. "And I'm the kind who thinks twice before climbing up a tree!" she laughs and adds that it was on producer Deeya's insistence that she agreed to take up cadet Naina's role. And how much does Priyanka identify with the roles she's done — Sheena in Bombay Talking and Naina in Left Right Left — since both were ambitious and bold characters? "I'm ambitious. As for boldness, it's just a matter of closing my eyes and telling myself Priyanka you can do it!" she smiles. She recalls the time she was required to wear a tube top during the shoot of Bombay Talking. "I was so sceptical but did it nonetheless," she says.
The actress says that she shares a wonderful camaraderie with her co-stars. But many a times, this chemistry has been misconstrued as something more. She has been linked with costars Rajeev Khandelwal as well as Vikas Manaktala. Priyanka remarks, "Linkups began the day I started shooting but I just take them as part and parcel of the game." She says that she was most amused when she read an article linking her to Rajeev. "I went and showed him the article and asked 'Are we going around?' and he said 'I didn't know that till now!' And I've known Vikas from my Delhi days. We just laugh off these rumours," she says. Priyanka also clarifies that she's not seeing anybody at the moment. "Work is top priority for me. I'm still a traveller who's trying to find her way across," she trails off. With this kind of focus, Priyanka's sure to go a long way!
