Seems that Runaq is not as bad a Soham is to some viewers here...to me at least Soham has some characteristics that we saw in the past that are redeeming and he certainly is not the type of person to violate another a woman and indeed saved Purvi from getting raped...but I do not think this is valued much among the forum members as the hate towards seems even more intense and unforgivable. I think these things hold higher quality than rapist. I'd rather sit in a room with Soham over Runaq any day.

Soham is totally adorable and also my favorite male character in the show.
Among the females I like Ovi and Pia, I used to like Purvi before the entry of Onir and I LOVED Punni Taai, I don't know why I just love how dramatically vamps are presented in Ekta soaps with so much eye shadow and every drop of blood oozing with conspiracies and evilnessđExample : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpYnd9kPYdgCurrently I am praying hard that PR doesn't go off air as I have this insane obsession of watching it five days a week on my TVđBesides I am watching Qubool Hai and Tumhaari Pakhi, which are totally adorable too.đLove ya guys!

Seriously?
I mean gauri was murdered, if she wasn't in the way then definetly Sachin would have lost his life.
I think most people are saying yes that there is still a bit of humanity left in soham.
Even I admit to that. Yes, he does have a little bit of humanity left in him.
But what people are getting at is that soham didn't do time for murder!
We all want raunak to be punished! Yes! In fact if there was such a person like raunak in our immediate vicinity, we'd all probably want to kill him with our own bare hands!
But pray tell why should soham not be punished?
Both are murderers.
Soham actually killed a girl, Raunak killed a girl from inside.
And how mental was soham acting, it sure felt like gauri was in danger of being raped.
Like I said people need to watch those episodes again and see for themselves.
I would have felt sorry for him if he had accepted and taken responsibility for his actions.
And if you see it another way, if soham HAD taken responsibility, his daughters would not be in such a bad situation.
They would have grown up with the deshmukhs, comfortably, with no money worries. Ankita would never have met Naren and even if she had, Mansi would not have been raped by raunak because situations would have been better or different. And although I like ankita/naren Jodi the fact is ankita probably would have married shashank herself, like it was originally planned.
If only soham wasn't a drunkard.
One is a murderer, Another is a rapist. One is not better than the other.

Thanks dear for your reply.
I know soham is not as bad as Raunak, right now! In fact I'm glad that he has the capabilities to care for his loved ones.
What I'm saying: If I were a mother and soham murdered my daughter, even by accident, I'd want him to do the time. And at the time of the murder, everyone was as outraged at soham as they were with Raunak.
Time really allows us to forget everything.
Other than that I don't see soham as a monster equal to Raunak. I'm happy that he cares for his daughters honour.
I just want to see some sort of acknowledgement from him that he regrets everything he did in the past.
Some sort of 'want' inside him to 'change himself' into a 'better and more involved' father.
I hope this is a turning point for him.
