Okay, maybe this is more suited to the mytho-masti forum, in which case the mod is welcome to move it there.

But one thing struck me today reading the update. Several months ago, when DkDM was showing its disastrous 'Ramayan' track, they showed Taraka - the rakshashi who Rama killed, as a tree-hugging environmentalist. Today, they showed Draupadi say that killing 1 tree == 100 humans 🤢 and Yudisthir stating that killing snakes is adharm.

Hello!!! That's precisely what Arjun & Krishna did. In fact, what they did was the ancient equivalent of subsistence farming, or slash-&-burn farming - the most eco-hostile technique there is of farming. And given that they did that 5000 years ago, when there was no WWF, Greenpeace or PETA to tell them that it was wrong. What does Swastik productions think - that Krishna was so advanced that he got into his kaal Garuda, went to 2014, took a Pew poll of what people think about subsistence farming and went back and told Arjun how to farm? Or took a tractor back to Bhima, or asked Balaram to just till all of Khandavaprastha w/ his plow? What did Krishna really do, hmmm?

It was one thing when in DkDM, the show took a break after the story of Ganga to put out the message that it is wrong to pollute the river today 👍🏼 Great message! But in that era, when the human population was low, there weren't that many people to put a strain on the earth's resources. It's different today, when there are close to 8B people, but there was nowhere near that then. So it might be okay for Krishna or Rama to have not worried about the environmental effects.

Anyway, prenipaat to you, tree-hugging Draupadi & snake loving Yudisthir!!! Or more precisely, Swastik productions for making this a WWF commercial

They don't have to show mythos as environmentalist let them just stick on to the actual story and true facts.

Cvs are just taking away the essence of the story itself by not showing what actually happened bcoz that's how in end Parikshit was bitten by a snake. The truth is Krishna and Arjuna burnt the forest and were responsible for loss of so many plants, animals and birds and this was done to quench the thirst of God Agni. And we are wise enough to accept the fact that there was a valid reason behind burning this forest by them.

Rather than messing up the whole plot they could have shown some disclaimer if they thought we are foolish enough to go and burn a forest to build a city after watching Starbharat. I mean..do people really take this serial so seriously? By doing this CVs once again have proved that not only they are confusing people but they themselves are confused big time.

hehehe.. Me too thought of this.. CVs are so Greater than all Gods that they want to save Lord Krishna himself 😉 they should show warriors in Kurukshetra using suction cup arrows instead of real ones else all of us will take the show seriously get mad and go on slaughtering each and everyone around us..

Haha...true...because according to them who ever watches starbharat they will follow it. Like in case of Draupadi's marriage they kept on giving reasons why she is marring 5 brothers as if it will affect viewers in a bad way!! 😆 I must say they are giving too much importance to themselves than viewers are actually giving them.

If Starbharat's Draupadi and Yudhishthir consider felling of 1 tree and killing of snakes as "killing 100 humans" and 'adharm', someone should show them Vyasa's description of the Khandav van dahan. That would be awesome...😆

And as per StarDrau and StarYudi, Vyasa's KrishnArjun would be the biggest adharmis for their complete disdain towards the environment...and as for Balram, he is practically non-existent in Starbharat, so...

Also, since you've raised the point of DKDM, it's one thing to talk about water pollution. But logically speaking, did Ganga used to get polluted in the Sat yuga/Treta yuga as well that she keeps coming to Mahadev and complaining about "pollution"/"shoshan"?

I thought water pollution was a Kali yuga thing...

Pollution must not have been a problem then. And if Starbharata forwarded a message that killing a tree is equal to the killing of 100 humans, they clearly stated that Krishna and all are adharmis as the whole Khandav forest was destroyed.

Population might have been as high as today per statistics of Vyas.. but still polution will not be a problem as the pollutants were not chemicals or non-degradable elements that we have today..

Killing snakes is adharm? really? Forget snakes, I was under the impression that a lot of kings of those times were hunters. Pandu was known for his love for hunting, wasn't he?

And there was a reason, though not explicitly stated in the epic, that one can arrive at by conjecture as to why Khandavprastha had to be burnt along with all of its inhabitants. It was to prevent the native population of that forest from staging a coup against Yudisthir's rule later.

After this, I won't be surprised if the show starts preaching things like 'save the tiger'.

agree with u.but I just wanted to comment that there are many people whom I have come across take this serial seriously and judge people by today standard. n making them understand wrt to that time is lime bumping ur head on wall.I have tried but failed miserably. so atleast for them I think cvs are doing a good job.

It will be shocking to see for the first time but it will be alright.. judging people on what happened really is far better than judging them based on these cooked up stories.. it is better to leave it to the viewers.. are all the printed and online versions of MB changed for this? they are pretending to be responsible in areas where they need not be so..

and I know this is what we can expect from a show were Kshatriyas eat pineapples in their forest travel.. Except Madri no one else behaved as one in this show so far..
