Yeah that fainting in his arms looked so contrived! But he seems to be coming between her and Mohini so maybe he senses Mohini is going to create a hullabaloo with Laila and that's why?If anyone was observing Rudra for clues to Paros whereabouts they would know instantly where she was😆Rudra does not have to explain true..but the thing is...Laila of late has been shown as not just someone he has a physical relationship with but someone he considers a friend! I had wondered why he would talk to her about Paro..without mentioning it's Paro just before he tried the chai seduction routine! Then it was clear they were trying to subtly shift the relationship to one as friends with benefits and this way when she started demanding explanations it wouldn't look so odd! From Laila's POV I think she was ok with no commitment from Rudra because he said he hated all beautiful women! But suddenly she comes face to face with the fact that he is marrying a beautiful woman and so she concludes that it was her he didn't want to commit to!Of course she knew what she was doing and so there is no rationality or justice in her demanding anything from Rudra but story wise they want Laila to be the villain now so obviously they are adding in these facts to justify!
