To tell you the truth I was really shocked when I first read you topic's title... I still didn't watch the episode.😆 My first respond was "Who's died?" and "Who's hurt?" then I read the written update and your post...Ooo...now I understood...

Yes, it is Arabic and in fact it is a part of a verse from Holy Quran (Al- Baqarah: 156). And I want to add something, we not only say this line when we heard or saw anyone died. We also say this line when any kind of misfortune happened. Like when someone lost their job or lost their house due to flood etc.

And here are translation of the verse and the verse before and after the verse...

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, (Al- Baqarah: 155)

Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return." (Al- Baqarah: 156)

Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided. (Al- Baqarah: 157)

*The blue part is the translation of what Rajat said...
