'Look dad,' An annoyed 6 year old rolled her eyes. 'You're being really lame right now. This is not the end of the world. It's only going to be like-' She stopped to count with her fingers, '4 days. Drama queen much?'
Shoulders slumped, Arnav messed up his hair, frustrated. Here he was getting told off by his own little daughter. Wasn't he supposed to be the parent here? 'Anayaaa', he groaned. 'You are 6 ok. How would you understand this feeling. Eventually in time you will understand what your father is going through.'
Anaya sighed. Her dad could be such a child some times. Wasn't that her job? But no, her father always had some reason to overreact about the same old topic. She sure hoped he was wrong. Anaya wasn't this lame and dependant. She was an independent 6 year old, who could do anything she wanted. Yup, she was a confident child- even for a 6 year old. Some might say this early maturity was from her father, but she strongly disagreed, especially with the way he was behaving right now. If only the world could see him right now.
'Dad, I am sure when I grow older, I won't be a baby like you.' That earned her a glare. 'Anaya! I am your father! Speak to me with some respect.' He earned a look for that one. 'Seriously, dad? Seriously?', Anaya raised an eyebrow, whilst she rested her chin on the counter.
Defeated, Arnav rested his chin on the counter facing her. 'Okay, fine, I agree. I am being a complete baby here, but I just... It's hard Ana. This used to be much worse when you weren't there. Now that you're here, at least I have someone to vent to- although I get mocked at,' he glared at her. 'At least I still can speak these feelings out. You're the only person I trust with this anyways.'
Suddenly she felt sorry for him. Secretly she was having a difficult time too, but she'd never tell that to dad. Maybe because one of them had to be strong. Frankly, it should be his job since she was the child and all, although he didn't get the memo on that one. Somehow the job as an adult always ended up in her hands. 'Dad, I understand okay. Why don't we do something fun? Like, maybe go to the park, get some ice cream, go watch a movie? I heard about the 'How To Train Your Dragon' movie is premiering tomorrow. We could go watch that and try to forget all this. You only have to suffer for 4 days. The days will fly, I swear.'
Another groan . 'Ana, how are you so stable. Shouldn't you feel something? Are you a robot? Did I end up making a child robat?'
Anaya face palmed. 'Dad, are you kidding me right now. Yes or no? Do you want to get over this and do something or do you want to sit here and moan for the next 4 days. If you're going to do that I am going to tell everyone in the house about what a baby you're being. Then everyone will tease you and make fun of you.'
His expression turned in to pure horror. Now he was seriously convinced that she was an evil robot. 'Don't you dare!' She shrugged. 'Well, make up your mind then. Either we have fun or I unleash your secrets to the entire world. The ASR, an absolute wimp.'
'You are evil, you know that.'
A mad hatter like smile appeared across her face. 'Well, I am your daughter.' Narrowing his eyes at her, he finally gave in. 'Fine, but I will get you back for this.'
Grinning, she jumped off her chair, and went over to him. Flinging her arms around his neck, she placed a sweet kiss on his cheeks, causing him to softly smile. 'You know you love me,' She said, while he laughed silently. 'Yes, yes,' he mumbled, carrying her little body to her bedroom.
Once she was settled in bed, as usual she asked him the famous line, she'd always say. 'Dad, could you read me a story?' So he sat down, cuddling next to her, reading from one of her favourite classical books- 'Heidi'
Two hours later, the sweet snores echoed across the room. She was fast asleep. He laid kiss on her forehead, and got himself comfortable next to her. Just as he was about to close his eyes, he heard the quiet, sleepy whisper. 'Dad, I miss her too. But don't worry, Mama will come soon. It's just a visit to her Buaji's house, not space.' And silence settled, while Arnav fell in to a deep slumber at his wise 6 year olds words.

4 days later the presence around the house was filled with excitement. The second Khushi entered the house, Arnav engulfed her in his arms, almost squeezing the life out of her. Anaya who was watching the scene from a far, rolled her eyes, but smiled.
Still wrapped in Arnav's arms, Khushi dragged herself to Anaya. 'So how was daddy? Worse than usual?' Anaya shrugged, winking at Arnav, who was giving her the 'dont you dare' look. Khushi laughed, kissing him on his stubble cheeks. 'Arnav sometimes you're worse than a baby!'
'That he is mama, that he is.' Anaya claimed, earning another glare from her dad. Laughter filled the house as the daughter and mother teased Arnav for the rest of the afternoon.

Yes, I just wanted to write about a smart 6 year old. Lol I dont even know. It was easy to picture Arnav acting like a child.
Anyways, if enjoyed, comments and likes would be nice.
