Bad Taste in my Mouth: Polygamy

Maybe it is because I believe in just one true love, or because I don't think it is possible to love two people the same amount, but I don't like the idea of polygamy.
I guess it is a part of the culture, but somehow I don't think it is fair to the women, in this case, especially Nafeesa. Fahad cheated on her, and then got married to the wrench. I think a lot of people like him use the context of social norms to get past their mistakes. Probably being a modern woman, this part of the show really grinds my gear. I know that there are lots of rules to make polygamy amicable in this religion, but somehow I feel that the freedom a woman has in a marriage gets sorta squashed.

I really want to see Nafeesa leave the house and her cheating husband (no matter how good a person he is, fact of the matter is that he cheated on her) and do something of her own, to show what he turned his back on, and he actually leaves his conniving second wife. Agreed that the first one isn't any better, but the second one is actually so smug about having stolen someone's husband - that is simply put, cheap.

I do not intend to hurt any religious sentiments or feelings with my view, it is simply my take on the social norm. I am sure that many of you have seen polygamy work - my intention is only to know what everyone else thinks. Share your thoughts on Fahad and his two wives.

You are right, keeping religious norms aside its really very difficult to accept sharing of one's love ,imagine what Suraiya Begum would have done if Osman had got himself another wife especially that he knows that she has tried to rule his life and is manipulative.

I feel very uncomfortable with Farad & his two wifes so i tend not to think of it
-its not right what he did to nafeesa
-but as much as i hate shazia u cant kick her butt back to the slums either cuz what would happen to her son
- nafeesa hates shazia's son for what he represents in her life a boy child she did have which led to her husband being married again to his secretary

-nafeesa is staying either because of religion as in her culture its okk for a man to have multiple wives
-or because of her children
-or she is hoping shazia eventually gets kicked out and she regains her rightful position as fahad first & only wife
