Nice post. Long overdue. Sanaya deserves it all. I have not read all the replies in this thread but id like to say that I can never forget the dignity with which she closed up IPK with her head held high. Her Paro is so convincing that im dying to see some scenes of her happy 'udthi tithili'. and to watch Rudra's reaction to it. How they get us hooked to these jodis! unbelievable! Being women of today and still having that little yearning for romance, no matter how 'make believe' it is! I see nothing wrong is wanting to see something beautiful on screen. Makes our heart happy. Just hoping they use Sanaya to her full potential.

lovely post and so true! she's an amazing performer and the only television actress i can watch and get totally immersed in the story and the character she's playing without seeing her real self anywhere. i like her subtlety and her believability, even with less than great scripts she always manages to bring something fresh and honest to the screen and i admire her dedication in doing that. and yes, endless crying does nothing for me, so i'm glad sanaya is getting to play shades with this character and there's so much more going on with paro than just that 😛

Nice to see appreciation for Paro/Sanaya. The biggest achievement for an actor is to make the audience connect with the character he or she is portraying. Make the viewers feel invested in the fictional person.
Sanaya has taken up this role to challenge herself and try something other than a talkative and hyper characters she has played before. With few dialogues and less dramatic sequences she has managed to hold the audience attention and make us go through the myriad of emotions Paro is going through. This is where her success as an actor lies. Paro is complete contrast to her in real life and very different from everything she is familiar with.

Her dedication to her work, desire to keep learning and honing her craft is admirable. She has no inhibitions in talking about her shortcomings and makes every effort to improve and work on them- be it her rural accent or getting a grasp of her character. Just yesterday in SBS she admitted to learning how to pronounce some words from Ashish.

Her love for her work and focus is pretty evident and I have never heard her complain about it and she is a team player respectful of the cast and crew of her shows.

Finally, despite being popular, she is underrated as an actor. Sometimes the focus on her beauty overshadows her acting abilities, so hope this project brings her the much deserved appreciation for her talent instead.

I have been following sanaya's acting since sept'11 ( the time when I started watching ipk ) and enjoyed her acting tremendously . I probably became her fan a year down the line as for me its very important to know some aspects of an actors off screen self , to truely like him / her.

I like her never say die spirit , her ability to say things the way they are, she doesn't hide her shortcomings and I marvel at how she picks herself up everytime and moves on to the next project with no rancour or bitterness.

Coming to paro ...I think this is the most challenging role of sanaya's career so far. This is nothing like her , their is no aspect of her personal life she can draw in this role. It is set in a rural milieu , of a girl who is quite , calm and who has gone through teribble upheavel in her life . It is an intense role in an extremely intense show.

It has fewer dialogues and she needs to emote with her eyes/ face and she does that beautifully. She is also looking gorgeous in the show in the lehanga cholis , the best I have ever seen her looking ...

I have come across several posts saying that we don't see paro's grief / point of view etc in the show and sanaya has been shortchanged . I disagree ...an offscreen byte by supriya pathak during CC days stayed in my mind . She was explaining the difference between movies and tv . She said " in a movie you have to make an impact with one scene where as in a tv show , your character is like an essay ...it has layers and you unravel each layer slowly "

Likewise we are seeing layers in paro's character ..i didn't think after watching the first week or so of the show , she was capable of pulling anyones coller😆 Or giving it back to a guy like rudra . I look forward to more of this layer - peeling if I could call it that in paro's character.

Coming to sanaya being shortchanged and worrying abt her career etc ...I find this bizarre. She in the tv industry is one of the most sought after actress and has had roles and shows offered to her , one after another . I have seen too many tv actors / actress fade away after a hit show ...you either donot hear abt them atall or they make an appearence after 3-5 years or are seen in some reality shows. Their are umpteen examples and I donot want to name them ...

For whats its worth , I am enjoying the show rangrasiya , liking the character of paro and very pleased with how sanaya has handled her career so far 😊

Well said Guinea.
